The visitor center in National Park is currently closed for renovation.

Easy tour - Involves walking over relatively level terrain, possible gravel or uneven ground in some areas. Lava tube is .4 of mile long with descending and ascending steps. Comfortable walking shoes & light jacket recommended
WHEELCHAIR / WALKER or SCOOTER ? We must know prior to the tour date if you are bringing a mobility device in order to accommodate. (Please add note to comments box) The mobility unit must not exceed 45 lbs. For various reasons our guides cannot assist with mobility units. Guests must have someone with them to move the mobility device in and out of the vehicle. Our vehicles do not have a lift, so any mobility device must be collapsible to fit through the mini bus doors which is 32” wide.
Mobility Restrictions: Mobility devices cannot go into the lava tube, a trail to the crater is dirt path. Trail to black sand beach in ok but the beach is sand. Customers can stay in the vehicle at any time if they wish. Call us if you have further questions.

Banyan Drive
Our first path drives us down Banyan Drive known as the "Hilo Walk of Fame" for the banyan trees planted by celebrities, such as Babe Ruth and Franklin Roosevelt and many others. These trees have withstood several tsunamis that have devastated the town of Hilo
Lili'uokalani Gardens
This is the largest Japanese garden outside of Japan donated by Queen Liliʻuokalani in 1917. Throughout the gardens are stone lanterns, gazebos, and torii gates, recalling the Japanese immigrants who came to Hawaii.

5.00We took this tour as a family of six and paid $153 per person. We were on a Norwegian Hawaiian cruise covering four Hawaiian islands, and throughout all seven days we booked Viator tours on each island. By far, this tour was not worth the price or the time spent. First, the tour description stated that complimentary water would be provided, but no water was offered by the guide. Instead, we were directed to take sample water from a macadamia nut shop stop. The macadamia nut farm and chocolate “factory” stop was completely unnecessary. The so-called factory was not operational and could only be viewed through two small windows, making it little more than a display. This stop appeared to exist solely to sell chocolate products and an overpriced lunch. A significant portion of the tour time was wasted standing in long lines to order lunch, which cost around $15 per person. The vegetarian option consisted of only one green item with chips and a bottle of water, which was also overpriced for what was offered. On all our other island tours, guides clearly explained what was included, how time would be spent, and ensured that promised amenities—such as free water—were actually provided. This was not the case on this tour. We observed that other guests seemed similarly disappointed; for example, another family of six spent much of the tour time trying to finish their food while still on the bus. The only positive part of the tour was the lava walking stop. Other than that, we felt misled and disappointed. We are experienced travelers, having visited over 40 countries and frequently booked Viator tours because we trust their service and quality. This experience was therefore particularly surprising and disappointing. I would not recommend this tour at this price. If you do choose to take it, I strongly suggest asking the guide to skip the macadamia nut farm “factory” stop, as it added no value to the tour.

5.00Robert was the best driver with so much information, bring us to volcano and we learn a lot, i want to get an other tour with Robert at night time ,he smile and laugh and time fly so fast with him.

3.00The best part of this tour was our guide. With that said, however knowledgeable she was. overshadowed by the crowded conditions on the tour bus. I was looking for far more activity and this was definitely not that. Good for inactive adults who just want to browse the federal park not the best for anyone else (I love NPS) park is incredible but you really do need a few hours at least to take it in. Lots of tourist gift shops with minimal information provided by vendors - Mau Lei was likely the biggest time waste (buy nuts watch a short movie) - some might love this type of activity but it was not for me. Next time we will rent a car.
Seeing the black beach, rainbow falls , the volcano pit and lava tubes was amazing!

5.00We absolutely loved Donna’s trip. She was a great guide. We saw a lot and learned so much! We were shocked to see the vents spewing so much steam. My absolute favorite was the lava tubes. I didn’t expect them to be so big!

5.00Fabian here! Anyone who doesn't want to rent a car or have much time on the Island, this tour is for you. Robert knows his stuff. Brought a lot of good energy to the tour. Worth doing.

5.00Robert, very fun, knowledgeable and kind person and his tour was spectacular to say the least! He made sure that he introduced us to all the popular places and scheduled enough time for us to enjoy them. He even took pictures for all of us at every location and shared unique information or along the way. Highly recommend!
