Join our local-guided volcano tour to Fagradalsfjall—led by those who witnessed the eruptions first-hand.
This is more than a hike. It’s a deep, real experience into Iceland’s volcanic heart, guided by locals who live near the eruption zone and were among the first to explore it safely after the 2021 event.
Walk across dramatic lava fields, view steaming craters, and gain rare insights into the geology and eruptions that shaped the Reykjanes Peninsula. We don’t just take you to the volcano—we also visit the evacuated town of Grindavík, the colorful geothermal area of Seltún, and the mysterious lake Kleifarvatn.

Oddie was an amazing tour guide for our hike up the mountain. I have gone on a decent amount of hikes but don’t consider myself an expert by any means. He helped make sure I was able to get to the top and had no issues. Perfect amount of stops throughout the hike with information about Iceland and the volcano throughout. Oddie prioritized safety carrying all essential equipment. There was even a surprise at the end of the hike. Definitely give this a try!

Unforgettable experience! Our guide Oddy was fantastic: knowledgeable about both the geology and history of Iceland. He took us to the Fagradalsfjall volcano, in the lava flow a few years ago, explaining everything. It is important to bring comfortable hiking shoes and windproof and rainproof clothing... depending on the time you go.

A truly unforgettable experience on the Icelandic volcano! Climbing to the top was fun and at the same time very interesting. Along the way we discovered fantastic things and enjoyed incredible views. Our guide, Oddi, was exceptional: prepared, engaging and always attentive, he made the experience even more special. It is essential to arrive well equipped, with hiking shoes and appropriate clothing, because at the top the wind can be quite strong. In any case, it was a unique adventure that I absolutely recommend to those who love nature and authentic experiences.

We had an amazing day hiking with Oddi who was very knowledgeable and we learnt a lot about the geology of Iceland and recent eruptions. We also visited geysirs on the drove back to Reykjavik and a traditional Icelandic fish farm which was an added bonus. Oddi was fantastic and really taught us about Icelandic culture and tradition.
