This tour is for Cruise Ship customers and all members of the public staying in the Bay of Islands.
We visit the Kawiti Glow Worm Caves, the Hundertwasser Toilets and take a leisurely 30-minute walk through the Opua Forest. All tours are approximately 3 hours long and leave from the Waitangi wharf at 9.30 am on Cruise Ship days. On other days the tour leaves from the Paihia I-site at 9.30am.
The price includes Cave entry, and the Maori guides are members of the family who have owned the attraction for over 400 years.

4.0Bill and Ken our tour guides, were very knowledgeable and friendly. Really easy to find at the port and the mini bus super clean and comfy. I really enjoyed the tour - there was a bit of a wait to enter the Glow Worm caves (as the tour in front of us were running late) but it was worth it. The Hundertwasser toilets and architecture was very interesting to see and there are some great milkbar-type cafes to eat at. Owing to the lengthy(!) roadworks that was happening - which of course on no way reflected on the tour operator and was beyond our control - our rainforest walk was cut short as a few of the passengers were anxious about getting on the last tenders. Highly recommended with excellent service! Oct 2024

5.0A short informative packed 3 hr tour with Ken. It's hard to choose between the Opua Forest Walk and the Kawiti Glow Worm Cave which one was more dazzling and spectacular. Ken was personable, funny, accommodating, and knowledgeable. Spend 3 hrs with Ken, it will be the best 3 hrs of your day.

5.0Great guide, the walk in the Forrest was amazing. Perfect amount of time for an excursion. Never felt pressed for time to get back to the ship. Left us more more times to hang around the town too.
