Our guide CJ was amazing! She was very knowledgeable about the canyon and the rock formations. The combination of the paddle and the hike was perfect for me. Looking forward to coming back, great experience!

I feel obligated to share the horrifying experience my family had during a kayak tour with this company. One of their tour guides, SEAN, acted in a way that was not only negligent but also cruel and deeply offensive. During our return from the tour, my 16-year-old sister fell into the water after being transferred to another boat — something the staff witnessed and said nothing about. She was visibly exhausted, struggling to get back on the kayak in open water, with boats passing by. We were all encouraging her in Portuguese, shouting, “vai, você consegue!” (“you can do it!”). When a boat of strangers approached to help, SEAN told them “they don’t belong here” and that we were just being “too emotional.” Let me be clear: my sister is a minor, in distress, in the middle of the lake, and this guide mocked our concern and did NOTHING to help. When my mother asked for help, SEAN replied: “Your daughter already caused too much trouble.” “There’s nothing I can do.” “I’m concerned about the kayak, not her.” Yes — he literally said that, multiple times: “I’m concerned about the kayak, not her.” He even body-shamed my sister, calling her fat in front of us. We paddled another 20 minutes, emotionally destroyed, while the person whose job is to keep people safe and supported watched and judged us instead. This was not just bad service — it was a complete failure of human decency, safety standards, and professionalism. If you care about your family’s well-being, especially children, stay far away from this company. I would give zero stars if I could.

Our Lake Powell kayak and Antelope Canyon tour with Jayce from Paddle Express was unforgettable! As a beginner, I was a little nervous—5 miles of kayaking is no joke—but Jayce was incredible. She stayed close, offered encouragement, and made sure I felt safe and supported the entire time. The paddle was challenging but beautiful, and the hike through Antelope Canyon was absolutely stunning. Jayce’s calm, knowledgeable guidance made all the difference. She turned what could’ve been an intimidating day into an empowering and memorable adventure. Highly recommend this tour, if you're a beginner, ask for Jayce! You’ll be in great hands.

The paddle through the river and into the canyon was amazing! The hike through Antelope Canyon was stunning!!! I would however not recommend the tour company. Sean showed up later than all the other tours. He was visibly annoyed and spoke to almost none of his customers. CJ, the woman guide, was great though. She pretty much carried the whole experience until Sean got over himself but he was still pretty intense. He made several rude comments before we even left on the paddle. When asked if there were a place for trash at the boat launch he snidely said, “your car!” Then I asked if we could use a sit on top kayak and he just flat out said no, use this one. He could have easily explained that the sit on tops were not his company kayaks but he was short tempered. He also made my husband paddle in the back saying the heavier person should go in back. I mentioned I was an experienced paddler and he wasn’t he said no. There’s literally a difference of 5 lbs between us so his argument was foolish and he could have asked about the weight difference. Since he didn’t bother I was fighting g my husband’s inexperience the entire day. Sean also felt it necessary to make political comments about the current administration being the reason for the low water levels and people in the region not having water for crops… He definitely did not need to make it political. Furthermore, if you’re making environmental comments and posing as an environmentally conscious person you pick up the fricken trash! You bring bags with you to give to people so they don’t leave tampons and pads in the “bathroom” in the canyon. This was the spot in the canyon where it was protected from other people’s view so your guides where telling women to go back there to pee. No mention of don’t leave anything behind! It was so disgusting back there I came out bummed out. Anyway, we still had a blast going. You can’t ruin beauty like that, even if your guide is rude.

Overall, it was a great experience! We loved it. Everything that was promised was delivered. Antelope Canyon is gorgeous for photos. Tour guide was great and we learned A LOT of geology and history of Page, AZ (which is on the border of Utah and Navajo Nation). Some things to note: Your feet WILL be submerged in the water, so the best shoes are sport sandals (like Teva). We wore hiking shoes, which dried pretty quickly, but we would have been more comfortable with sport sandals. Also, we took the 8am tour, which meets at 7:30. I highly recommend going early bc the water is calm and there are few people on the lake. By 10am, boats start taking over the lake and kayaking became very difficult because the waves were strong. Also, it gets HOT, so any tours after 10am, are too hot, in my opinion. The meetup is in AZ time, not Navajo time and not Utah time. If you like the outdoors, I highly recommend this tour!
