Start Miyajima Walking Tour After gathering, we will board a ferry to Miyajima. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Seto Inland Sea and the iconic Otorii, Miyajima's symbol, during the boat ride. Upon reaching Miyajima, friendly deer will welcome you. We'll stroll along the coast to the Otorii Gate and then proceed to Itsukushima Shrine.

5.00My half-day walking tour of Miyajima Island with Hiro was an absolutely incredible experience. Due to a happy coincidence, it ended up being a private tour just for the two of us, and I honestly couldn't have asked for a better guide. Hiro made the entire visit feel personalized, engaging, and truly special. Her knowledge of everything on Miyajima from its rich history and Shinto traditions to the deer and hidden viewpoints were perfect. Hiro's engaging personality made the time fly by. She was the perfect companion throughout the entire tour, striking the perfect balance between informative guiding and friendly conversation. It felt more like exploring the island with a knowledgeable friend than a formal guide. And of course, Hiro instinctively knew all the best spots and angles to capture stunning photos of the island's iconic scenery. Thanks to her, I have a collection of amazing photos that I will cherish forever. I cannot recommend Hiro enough. If you are planning a trip to Miyajima, booking a tour with her is a must. 5.00What an incredible tour and a fabulous guide -Rio! We were lucky to visit this beautiful island on a national cultural day which provided many additional experiences. So many cultural, historical and culinary experiences to appreciate on Miyajima. Rio was so accommodating for all in the group and she clearly wanted everyone in the group to get the most from the day. So generous with her time and knowledge and nothing was too much trouble. One of the best tours I have done and will remember it for many many years . Thank you Rio!!

5.00We met Hiro at the station as promised, we had a group of 6 in total and 4 were late so we waited for them which was very gracious of her. There's a 7/11 as you get off the train at Miyajimaguchi and just a short walk to the ferry port. The ferry runs every 10 minutes or so and with a JR pass you only need to pay the ¥100 tax which is about 50p per person. There's lots to see on the island and this tour takes you up into the Forrest, stopping at the main shrines, Tori gate, pagoda, stopping for lunch, and back down through the shopping area, stopping for an ice-cream and then back to the ferry. There are a few deer along the way, and lots of interesting buildings. Hiro was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable overall and we talked lots about other aspects of Japanese life as well as giving us historical information about the Island. Whilst it is a walking tour and somewhat uphill in places it's very accessible and there's plenty of time to stroll.

5.00Hika was a great guide. His teaching background elevated his style. He had a notebook with illustrated notes to help us understand timelines, geographies, history, etc. We were lucky to be the only ones on the tour so it felt very personal. His knowledge of the island was shared abundantly and his storytelling style was entertaining as well as informative. The best part is he took so many photos for us that we wish all tour guides did this. He knew the best spots, best angles, aware when people were not around to snag a quick photo, etc. We highly recommend Hika and any tour he leads!

5.00A must do tour. Kaori was my guide for the day on the tour of Miyijima Island. Everything she planned and did was right, the amount of information, the honesty of answers, clear English and variety of places and walking areas. A fantastic guide for the day which really did enhance the tour. The weather was perfect. The Torii Gate was submerged on arrival and by the time we had finished exploring all over we were able to walk up and touch it. The scenery is spectacular. There was a blending of everything nature, religion, history and island/Japanese life.
