  Great highlights tour and very efficient. Especially Rose our tour guide who somehow kept the group together with multiple stops. Two disappointing things, the small group was 28 people and we expected 15, and the cogwheel train was closed due to snow still on the ground. Nothing the tour could do about it but good to check before you go.

• No guide contact, no help, no tour

  We went 15 minutes early to the address and location the email requested us to go to, for meeting the tour guide and group. No one but another couple showed. There was no one to call or text to get immediate help!! The number we found to text was the company who told us they could not get in touch with the tour guide. No phone number of the guide to find out where the tour group may be waiting. Since no help was provided, the other couple and us missed this tour. All other tours we participated in provided the name and a contact number of the guide. If this had been the case for this tour, the 2 couples would never had missed the tour.

  We booked our tour, opened our app, used the map and arrived early at the meeting point of Lucern 1, Zentralstrasse, Lucern, Switzerland. Start time 10.15am as listed. Once we arrived, another couple from America were also waiting for the tour. As 10.15am grew closer, there was no guide! I hopped on the app and reached sent a message to the tour operator explaining the above, to which they replied to meet on platform 7 (this information is NOT provided or listed in the meeting point) We scrambled across to platform 7, let them know we were there and that we still could not see anyone. We asked to contacted, provided our phone number and we’re not responded too! We hopped back on the app and messaged Viator support with the same information that we had arrived at the meeting point at the correct time etc and were unable to find the tour guide., Viator tried to contact the tour company with no luck also. We all missed our tour! I requested a refund, given that the meeting place is incorrect, I was early and on time, I had reached out to both the tour operator and the support for assistance and clarity. The tour company denied our refund. Upon reading other 1 star reviews and higher, this is a common occurrence, and the tour guide is not visible with a company shirt, coloured umbrella etc or even a simple sign stating “Pilatus tours” It appears they don’t take on any feedback for improvements, let alone provide the correct meeting point details listed on the app. Book elsewhere!

  The guide was wonderful. The weather in early May was too rainy, snowy at top of mountain. We could not see anything. Cruise of Lake Lucerne was very nice. Beautiful. Wait for this tour in June or July.

• Wonderful, but could do this yourself much cheaper.

  Our guide Rose was great- very informative and kept track of our small group very well. My only thing is that you could really do this yourself for a lot cheaper. We just got a public bus, walked up to the funicular, waited while Rose got our tickets( no skip the line) then we waited in line to get on the funicular. It was beautiful and amazing when we got up there, so well worth doing, then we got funicular back down, walked back to the public bus then waited at the wharf for the boat. It's not a private boat, just the local ferry anyone can get on. Again, the lake cruise was beautiful, but really didn't need a guide. Also the guide was very difficult to find at the meeting place- we were there VERY early but couldn't find them. Turned out we walked past her a few times but because she didn't have any identifying clothes/ hat/ flag or anything, we didn't know to ask if that was so she was.
