The weekend was excellent. On the first day visiting Rouen and Hornfleur was well timed for grabbing delicious French food to eat and seeing the wonderful towns. Our guide Amelia was so knowledgeable as we walked along with her. Visiting Omaha beach and the American War Cemetery was also well timed, but we were glad of being just a small group as you have to move quickly to stick to the schedule and make the most of everything. We stayed overnight at the Mercure hotel in Caen and the meals were delicious. On the second day the walled city of St Malo was a real highlight…and I have never seen so many patisseries with such delicious wares! Again our guide was extremely knowledgeable and kept us to time for our visit to Mont St Michel. What was not clear was how many steps you need to walk inside the monument. Up hill all the way and 300 steps so keep that in mind if you have knee issues! We also became so full of interesting information about Mont St Michel that perhaps less detail may be more appropriate for future times. The difficult part is the 5 hour or more drive to get back to Paris. Of course it is a long return journey, but I don’t think that is clearly explained in the beginning information. ( and perhaps just a small thing, but I wished the front bus window had been cleaned so we could see well out of it. The side windows were lovely and clear) The tour is still a great way to see and learn about things that I could never have seen myself.

We were on a tour with English and Spanish speaking guide. She would first talk in English and then Spanish. Sometimes I would stop listening during the Spanish part and I didn't realize she switched to English, and I'd miss some comments. At each destination, the guide would give instructions on the bus (when to meet after and where). Then she would take us on a walk describing certain details of the area. Then we would be on our own for a certain amount of time. It didn't seem like enough, but to get all the other things in, the timeline was necessary. We were able to make it work each stop. The dinner was good with conversation with others on the bus. Over night stay accommodations were great. Early morning breakfast to keep things moving. There was a 4.5 hour ride home, with a stop in the middle this was at the same time as 4 or 5 other busses, so very crowded and 30 min didn't seem enough time to order food and get it before going again. Other than those details, we got to see everything described in tour and we enjoyed all we saw. Recommend if you want someone else to plan and do the transportation from Paris.

The locations are amazing. The food and accommodations were very nice. The drivers are exceptionally skilled on incredibly narrow roads with massive busses. The guides are very nice people but not very skilled and did not add significant value to the experience. The tours appear to all be done in a multilingual format. In all honestly most of our tour group would drop their earpiece and wander off on their own after figuring out the leaving point. Take the tour for an amazing set of locations… but not for a great guided experience, it simply falls short. I forgot to mention don’t be surprised when you are stacked like cord wood into a shared 4 hour ride back to Paris from Mount St Michel with another bus so your original bus can continue on with 8 out of over 30 people to the 3 day tour.

I can’t rate this tour high enough! We covered a great amount in two days, and tour guide Leila was an encyclopedia of historical knowledge only exceeded by her kindness. Her sense of humor was fantastic, and she would effortlessly switch from English to Spanish to French. We hit all the major sites..there was no delays at all. I would definitely take this tour!

So much more than I expected. Love St Malo and St Honfleur were great surprises. Normandy, Omaha Beach, American Cemetery have been on my travel list for some time, and our guide Lela was extremely knowledgeable and helpful the entire trip. Stayed and a nice hotel. Driver was safe as well. Highly recommend the two day trip.
