No large bags or suitcases are allowed inside the museum, only handbags or small thin bag packs are allowed through security. Due to increased security measures at many attractions some lines may form on tours with 'Skip the Line' or 'No Wait' access. Paris’ other museum, the Musée d’Orsay, is the perfect complement to the Louvre. With your private guide, begin your tour through this converted Beaux-Arts train station with skip-the-line admission. 5.00Christophe has an obvious passion for the impressionist paintings at the Gare d'Orsay. I'd been familiar with most of these paintings from afar but he provided a lot of detail that I didn't know. It added a lot of depth to my cursory knowledge to hear the stories of the artists and their many interconnections. He also pointed out aspects of the works that I hadn't ever considered. Kudos to Christophe!

5.00I had the most incredible and unforgettable tour with Hugo! The Orsay Museum wasn’t even on my original list of places to see, but when the Louvre unexpectedly shut down because of the heist, I decided to give this tour a try — and what a blessing in disguise that turned out to be. From the moment the tour began, Hugo brought the art and history of the museum to life with such passion, humor, and depth that I was completely captivated. His storytelling is a rare gift — he manages to educate, entertain, and inspire all at once, without ever sounding rehearsed or pretentious. Every painting, every anecdote felt personal and meaningful, and time just flew by. 5.00If you are interested in learning about Impressionism and the journey from classical art to Impressionism, this is the tour for you. If you prefer not to wait in long lines, you don’t have to on this tour. Our tour guide, who holds an MA in art history, was fantastic in that she tailored our tour to ensure our viewing of the artworks the Orsay is best known for as well as delving into how art evolved from the classical grandeur of Delacroix to Manet’s daring convention-breaking to the brilliance of Van Gogh. In other words, she was so knowledgeable about art and adept at navigating the museum itself that she could accommodate the interests of each of us in our very small group. This was my first experience with a tour arranged through Viator, followed by a second, equally fascinating tour through the Louvre with another superb tour guide. I don’t plan to give up spending long hours enjoying museums on my own, but to get a thorough overview which can be as specific or general as a small group (six maximum) chooses, while wasting no time in line, this is magic!
