Overall very good experience with passionate crew, trying to keep the culture alive. But it felt more like lecture than having fun with cooking. Recipe display would be helpful and less hands-on can be offered depending on people’s preferences. Better photos should be provided if attendees are told to focus on the class too!

The cooking class was worth every coin. We cooked many dishes, including dessert and got to take away some of the dessert. Amy is a great chef. Her knowledge, explanations and techniques I will carry with me for a long time. Mok and Simon are also excellent guides, full of knowledge about Nyonya food and Malaysian culture. Definitely highly recommend 👌🏾.

This was hands down one of the best cooking classes I’ve ever done and a true highlight of my trip to Malaysia. We chose the morning class in Penang, which included a market tour, and it was exciting, informative, and incredibly immersive from the very start. Mok and Simon were exceptionally generous with their time and knowledge, explaining ingredients, techniques, and local food culture in a way that made everything easy to understand and fascinating. The cooking class itself was perfectly paced—hands-on, well organised, and packed with useful tips. I was genuinely impressed by what we were able to create under their guidance. The experience was topped off by an unforgettable feast, hosted by the lovely Nonya Amy and Mok. The food we made—including a curry, Char Kway Teow, kaya dessert, and several other dishes—was outstanding and honestly one of the best meals I had in Malaysia. An exceptional experience from start to finish. I couldn’t recommend this class more highly.

The whole experience was excellent! The market tour and the cooking class were outstanding. The recipes were exactly what I was hoping for, and I’ve cooked a couple of the recipes now that I’m back home for wife and friends. Delicious. I highly recommend the class !

This a great experience not to be missed. The tour starts in the market where Mok explained many of the products & had us taste some. We then had a light breakfast & went up to the kitchen for our cooking lesson. Mok’s kindness & enthusiasm didn’t flag .It was wonderful!

Such a lovely memorable experience for my last day in Penang. I received so many recommendations from Mok and Amy that I now have my next visit to Penang already mapped out! We started with the market tour sampling lots of fruits and other snacks, included breakfast of iced coffee and pancakes. Mok took so many photos of us, which was lovely as a solo traveller. The class is above the market, and we made several dishes - barley tea, char kway teow, chicken curry and many others. Everyone in the class was so friendly. The experience went for about six hours and we received our leftovers to take home with other surprise gifts. All the recipes and ingredients are sent to you afterward along with photos and videos of your experience. Thank you Mok and Amy for sharing your culture with us!

This is not a typical cooking class but a local Penang food passion enthusiast. The morning walk in the market gave a quick understanding of what local ingredients are. Then, you had great choices for local breakfast. Cooking class is fun and you can learn a lot more technique different from I saw on Youtube

This was a wonderful experience for me and my wife. I have attended many cooking classes and this was one of the best. Cooking complicated meals from scratch can be a challenge but the instructor made complicated dishes easily to understand. The fee was very reasonable for the class. With to market tour and the instruction the total time was perfect. The classroom is in a large kitchen that made it easy to work and cook all of the dishes. There were only four of us so we received very direct attention from the instructor. On a more personal note is that I had dropped my phone in the taxi and the training coordinator, Mr. Simoienz, spent all day getting it back for me.

We had a fantastic time with Francisco and his wife Amy cooking authentic Chinese Malay cuisine ( Nyonya) - they were very knowledgeable about Penang history but also the food and spices. Thank you for a wonderful day with a wet and dry market tour before the class. We would definitely recommend this if you are in Georgetown
