We had the most wonderful experience taking this class. Our hosts really spent the time to teach us about Malaysian culture and cuisine. The class was fun, informative and taught us new techniques for cooking. The food was incredible. Absolutely a must do.

This was the highlight of our visit to Penang! We learnt so much about the local culture through this activity, starting with an informative and fun market tour led by Mr Mok in the morning and watching fresh ingredients being made into eg pancakes, coconut milk; and then being taught how to cook a delicious four course meal using these ingredients by the wonderfully calm, skilled and lovely Nyonya Amy! Moreover, this well organised experience took my disability into account and ensured that the market tour was at a manageable pace and the cookery class offered me many opportunities to rest. I cannot recommend this cookery course highly enough! If you want a memorable, fun, informative family experience - book this!

Touring the market was very interesting. Instructors were very knowledgeable about the dishes and were open to answering questions about other aspects of Malay culture. Very educational and good food as well.

I absolutely loved this cooking adventure. From the moment it began, it was a relaxed, yet culinary PhD in Malaysian culinary culture. We were first introduced to the cooking area, then lead through the market stalls with smiles, introductions and gems of local food knowledge. And the cooking class was absolutely the best cooking experience I could’ve imagined. Who knew you could laugh so much and learn to much at the same time! These people are truly wonderful introduction to the Nyonya Baba culture. I came away so grateful for attending their class. I learned a tonne about spices, about the history and culture, as well as a good grasp of how to prepare some of my favourite Malaysian dishes. THANK YOU SO MUCH! I’ll definitely sign up for more. This was the best cooking class I have ever been on. We had a fun comprehensive market tour with Mok and a market breakfast. The classroom was really spacious and cool with many big fans. Amy was a fantastic teacher and we Made so many delicious dishes that we all ate together when finished. Mok took a lot of photos and videos. All in all a ten out of ten experience.

Simon met us at the cruise port. His dad drove us to the market where we saw the ingredients we would be using. Amy was outstanding in showing and explaining what we would be doing. The food we made was excellent. The facility was clean. We would recommend this cooking class to everyone.

If you’re looking to learn more about Malaysian cooking and the history of Penang’s cuisine, this course is wonderful. It’s full of excellent cooking tips and advice, resulting in truly delicious dishes. If you choose an earlier start, the market tour is especially interesting. The experience was also great fun. We were made to feel very welcome and well looked after throughout. Highly recommended. Thank you Mok and Amy.
