Children under the age of 18 might be requested to show their ID card at the entrance of the site, so please bring it with you on the tour
From early November to February the Vesuvius isn't accessible and it is replaced with Positano, except for Christmas period (from 26/12/25 until 02/01/26) when Vesuvius is open.
During summer months in rare cases of inclement weather or strikes, the crater of Vesuvius may be closed to visitors, therefore, if this is the case, it is replaced with a visit to Sorrento where you will get free time to explore the city.
The hike up to the crater of Vesuvius requires a good level of general fitness. The walk is uphill at a 14 degree angle and takes roughly 20 minutes.

3.00Had to travel quite far from our accommodation early in the morning to the pick up point and was a bit of a chaotic process trying to find our guides and what group we were supposed to be in, but once on the bus the journey was relatively easy. The actual tour of Pompeii wasnt the greatest - due to the nature of the tour, it felt rushed and we felt we only saw a tiny section of the city (to the point where we may revisit to see Pompeii properly) our tour guide spent more time showing us around the museum at the end rather than the actual ruins. The trip to Vesuvius was a bit better but, again, not much time to get up there - we sped up the volcano so were able to actually spend some time at the top but only saw two other groups of people from our tour make it, no one else had enough time to get up and down again to be back at the bus in time. The journey back was long (not a problem, we knew it would be) but the tour guide spent the whole 2 or 3 hours talking about nothing which was a bit much after a long, hot day! All in all not the worst trip but certainly not the best.

5.00Really informative. The guide, Alberto, was amusing, knowledgeable and kind. I have been to Pompeii previously on a guided tour, however, this one was much better. The trip to Mt Vesuvius was great too. The guide clearly knew his onions. The food was great too. I would highly recommend.

5.00The morning pick up setup can be improved, have your folks hold signs per departure time and location, the current yelling method was confusing and inefficient. The trip got so much better after, Chiara was a rockstar, great balance between important information and keeping the group engaged , the Pompeii guide was okay, she was mumbling most of the time and was hard to hear her, lunch was amazing, well organized, super friendly staff, the geologist was great, she was super passionate about iit, made it interesting. overall the trip was great and getting out from Rome madness for a day was great too
