5.00I can't say enough good things about this tour and Michael, our guide. Michael was incredibly knowledgeable and tailored the content of out tour to our interests. It's clear he has a love for history and can speak at length on topics related to the places we were visiting and their context within the country China is today. I did this tour with my 11 year old daughter and Michael could speak to my interests as well as engage her on her interests. I shouldn't fail to mention that this tour included a lunch that was an absolute feast - the food was great and left us both in a food coma afterwards, which made it hard to go back out after the lunch was over (this was absolutely my fault!). Highly recommended! I should mention that this tour was supposed to include the Forbidden City, but we later found out that tickets for that site were already sold out - and that normally unless the booking is made at least 7 days in advance, you'll find Forbidden City tickets are not available. In our case this meant we visited the Lama Temple instead, which was fine because it featured similar architecture to what you'd see at the Forbidden City, and because of its smaller scale, it meant it made the tour a little bit more manageable (particularly since I was traveling with my kid). Just want to say. this because if you do want to visit the Forbidden City, plan accordingly!
