Experience one of the longest mushing trails in Fairbanks! Embark on an unforgettable dog sledding adventure down the historic Yukon Quest 1,000-mile trail!
This slow paced (yet action packed!) private experience is for everyone. Whether this is a bucket list item for a mature explorer or a first-time adventure for a tiny human, we guarantee a fulfilling experience for people of all ages.
We provide high quality cold weather gear for our guests, including parkas, snow pants, boots, hats and mittens. We also offer an enclosed sled bag equipped with cushions, pillows & fur blankets to ensure you are comfortable throughout your entire riding experience.
Our tour is catered to small groups to provide an immersive & leisurely experience.

First we welcome our adventurers into our authentic Mongolian Yurt and outfit everyone for the trail. We provide all the essentials to keep guests comfortable in our cold Northern temperatures. Next step into the dog yard where your guide will introduce you to each canine team member and explain their unique personalities! Once the dogs have been introduced and lots of husky selfies have been taken, we help the guests into the sled. Witness the exhilaration as the guide hooks up their team of excited and vocal canine athletes! Once our teams are primed and ready, we mush amidst a mesmerizing landscape adorned with snow-capped black spruce, and over frozen lakes and streams. Prepare to be in awe as we hit the famous Yukon Quest 1,000-mile trail and our faces are drenched in vibrant winter sunrises and sunsets! At the half-way point we stop on a quiet frozen pond for a beautiful arctic landscape photo op. Step out of the sled, steal frosty whiskered kisses and get pictures with your adventure crew & dog team. Finally, we mush back to the warm Mongolian yurt to melt the frost from our eyelashes and strip the cold away from our cheeks and say our goodbyes. Trail Length 7 miles.

5.00One of the coolest things I’ve ever done. Every moment was out of a movie! Jeremy was fun, knowledgeable, and a great guide. His dogs are amazing! My only concern is that doing this at the beginning of our trip means we may have peaked on our first day! 10/10 recommend

5.00This company was amazing. Chase, Bill, and Jeremy are excellent mushers and so fun and personable. They taught us so much and each owned their own team of dogs, so we loved that it is that personal. The ride was so quality and longer than most places, was 45 minutes! I would definitely recommend booking with them and will do so again! We chose them initially because they provide extra winter gear, so we weren’t even cold!

5.00Wow! So happy we chose The Last Frontier Dog Mushing Co-op! There were 3 expert mushers, all experienced drivers & have participated in the Iditarod &/or Yukon Quest. Amanda was our guide. Her dogs were so fantastic & excited to take us mushing. We were on a 2 hour event, mushing for about an hour. There were 3 sleds, 2 people per sled. We met at the yurt & learned about mushing & what to expect. Before getting into the sled, Amanda introduced us to each and every one of the dog team. We petted each dog individually, giving and receiving pets and kisses. Amanda explained everything that we needed to know to enjoy a fantastic ride through the woods of Alaska. Along the way Amanda taught us about mushing, her personal experiences, racing & her immense love of & respect for her dogs. She answered our many, many questions along the way. We chose The Last Frontier because they concentrated solely on mushing. We are so glad we did. Our experience was beyond our expectations. I thank Amanda & the other leaders so much for the work they do and share, and for making our ride a once in a lifetime experience.

5.00The mushers (Chase, Amanda, Jeremy and Bill) were all great people. The dogs were amazing and hard working. They have been obviously treated very well and loved so much by their people. We learned a lot, and had so much fun on the trail. I wouldn’t go anywhere else the next time.

5.00We had an incredible experience on this mushing tour. The team was welcoming, warm, and extremely organized. Our musher, Chad, was amazing—friendly, passionate, and incredibly knowledgeable. He took time to introduce each of his dogs and shared personal stories that made the experience even more moving. The tour itself was longer than others I’ve done, and the dogs were clearly well cared for and loved. This wasn’t just a ride—it was a glimpse into a lifestyle, and we’re so grateful for it. Highly recommend!

5.00We loved everything about this experience. Our mushers took great care in ensuring our warmth and comfort. Before we took off on our ride we spent quality time meeting and loving on the dogs. Our musher introduced us to each one and gave us their backgrounds. The ride itself was so much fun. We enjoyed the beautiful scenery while marveling at the dogs’ athleticism and sheer joy of the run! Our musher was so friendly and happily answered all of our questions. The bond between him and his team was obvious. I highly recommend this tour!

5.00This tour was one of the best we’ve been on. It was a plus that the dogs are personally owned by the mushers. The dogs were friendly, well behaved, and all appeared happy. My six year old loved it! Jeremy was an excellent guide, and guided us and the dogs every step of the way.
