2.00The pros: the guides were great. We thoroughly enjoyed our guide for the day (Chiara), she was absolutely fantastic. Same with our guide in Montepulciano. Cons: the "wine tasting" part of the tour was not a great experience. We went to a "vineyard" (if you can call it that), we didnt go down to any actual vineyard (as it appears in the first picture of the tour posting), didnt see any vines or any form of the process of how wine is made. We arrived, got brought down to a cellar for maybe 4 minutes where the host of the vineyard said it was her family's property, and they were thankful we came. We saw 3 giant wine barrels and thats it, nothing else associated with what a vineyard does. Aside from that, we did not learn anything about the wines we tasted. We apparently tasted 7 different wines, however the experience was a large room with rows of tables with hundreds of people, and the servers coming around and dumping a splash of wine in our glass so fast that wine was splashed all over our plates numerous times. If we didn't finish the wine in our glass before and they arrived with a new bottle, it was a very quick "finish that wine so I can pour the next". We had no idea what we were tasting, didn't have the opportunity to look at the bottle while we were tasting. We could only see the bottles in the shop after lunch. It felt like a processing line. In total, we maybe had a singular 9 oz glass of wine combined. Everybody along the way was so kind, but I was hoping for a bit more of a wine tasting experience. In addition, the majority of the tour was free time around 2 towns (which was nice and cute), but that's my bad for not looking at the tour description. I wanted more wine involvement/wine education considering we were in Tuscany. I do not recommend if your looking for a wine-focused tour. Pay the extra $50 and go somewhere else (I wish I did).

5.00A wonderful experience touring the countryside of Montepulciano, Pienza, and Montalcino, Tuscany. Tuscany is everything you may have heard. The lush green rolling hills dotted with hamlets and villages. Our first stop was Montepulciano known for its famous Brunello wine and backdrops for several well-known movies. It's iconic of an Italian village. Nestled under a canopy a lovely table set for us to enjoy lunch in a quaint outdoor garden added ambiance to the experience. Completed the tour in Montelcino at local vineyard at memorable wine tasting. Our driver Claudio was generous with his time, prompt, and pleasant. We enjoyed getting to know him. The best part was the making of new friends.
