Your departure location provides for opportunities to see wildlife immediately. Many bird watchers that go with us are identifying sea birds while they wait at the top of the dock; before they even board. Before we leave the bay, there are ample opportunities to identify different Pinnipeds and sea birds. Unlike other whale watching tours, we are less than a mile from the ocean when we start; so we have chances to see whales very quickly.

We will depart from the dock and generally see California Sea Lions very quickly. We usually see quite a few varieties of sea bird before we leave the bay as well. We will head out into open ocean in search of whales, dolphins, other mammals and sea birds.

Great experience. The crew was very knowledgeable and funny. We saw 1-grey whale, 1-humpback, some seals and so many dolphins.

The ship has a great naturalist. We had a great day - we had multiple sighting of a gray whale on his/her way to Mexico, a raft of sea lions and a huge pod of stampeding long-beaked common dolphins that swam in along-side and in the wake of the boat. This trip is also a great value.

Great crew. While we didn't see any whales on this trip (no guarantees naturally) we did see lots of two types of dolphins. They do provide a coupon for half off your next trip when the whales are not seen.

We purchased same day tickets and managed to see one whale, two sea lions and what felt like thirty dolphins! The crew was amazing, the weather was beautiful, and the ride smooth. Overall, wonderful! Highly recommend!

Had an awesome day whale watching. Crew was very nice and informative. We saw lots of dolphins and several sea lions. To end our trip we saw 3 gray whales on our way in that truly put on a show.

We booked a whale watch cruise that included my wife, our adult children and grandchildren. The whole cruise was highly enjoyable! The staff very friendly and informative. They worked quite diligently to ensure all aboard had a safe and pleasant experience. the vessel was very comfortable, roomy, and piloted with care. My wife gets very nervous on such adventures. however, she settled in and really had a good time without any worry. Of course, everyone is at the mercy of the conditions and whether whales are present or not. Unfortunately, the Gray Whales were not in our vicinity during our cruise. However, it wasn't for the lack of the staff and crews' efforts. Nonetheless, there was so much to see out there. Because no whales were spotted, we received a coupon for 50% off for another cruise. We WILL be going back on the Legacy. I highly recommend them.

Incredible trip! We saw a whole lot of common and white side dolphins and a whale. The naturalist on the trip was excellent and very informative, plenty of great seating and amenities. There were also a couple volunteers from the natural history museum there to share info and show some specimens! Besides that though IF IT IS WINDY TAKE MOTION SICKNESS MEDS!! There’s usually a couple pukers on boats like this but holy cow people were dropping like flies around 2 hours in, myself included. They warn you at the beginning and have options for you, listen to them. Your stomach is not more powerful than Mother Nature and ginger ale will not save you. Again, it was pretty windy out and the waves were choppy so it was probably way worse than usual.
