Kerikeri Mission Station was established in 1819, and was the first place Maori invited overseas visitors to live with them. This is the oldest wooden building in New Zealand.
Customers will enjoy a guided tour through both historic sites.

Kauri Workshop where you purchase hand carved products made from local timber.
Enjoy lunch and a glass of something at the Plough & Feather a traditional Kiwi gastro pub.
Return via the Rainbow Falls and the spectacular views from the Waitangi look out loop.

What To Expect
The Stone Store & Kemp House - Kerikeri Mission Station
Our tour takes us to the Kerikeri Mission Station which was established in 1819. There are two significant buildings, "The Stone Store" built in 1832, originally used as a Missionary Society warehouse and the adjacent "Kemp House", New Zealand's oldest building completed in 1821/22 by missionary carpenters and Maori sawyers. Customers will enjoy a guided tour through both historic sites.

Makana Confections specialises in gift-quality confections - all hand-made and using only the freshest, natural ingredients available to them. Like a winery / cellar door you can watch how the chocolates are made, taste a few samples and, of course, shop for delicious chocolate

It was a great trip. We visited the sights listed and lunch was excellent.

5.00Visiting the history of the area. Small groups are always better. The location of the missionary house was stunning. We enjoyed the garden, and the restaurant was just right.

4.00Haruru and Rainbow Falls were picturesque. Glad we saw them. The description was misleading as it indicated it would be a guided tour at the mission house and it was not. Tour guide was nice and informative as we were going from place to place.

5.00The stone house and lunch near the river were amazing. The waterfalls were so beautiful, if I had more time I would have loved to jump in.

3.00Rainbow Falls were good as well as the Stone Store and Kemp House being the oldest building in NZ. Derek, our guide, was very good. The lunch was under average with one piece of fish and chips and the chocolate factory was quite small. The four hour tour was good but definitely not worth the $185.
