Istana Negara

Istana Negara is Malaysia’s National Palace. Built in 1928, it is located along Jalan Istana and the 13-acre castle used to be the official residence of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (King) of Malaysia. In June 2011, it was replaced by a new, extravagant RM800 million palace near Jalan Duta, Kuala Lumpur.

Our excursion was wonderful. Our guide master fully took us to the caves and we were able to go up into them. It was during the annual pilgrimage and so it was very crowded but very exciting. We also went to all the other stops and got to see a lot of things. We were quite impressed with Malaysia. I definitely recommend this excursion.

Tour was good but not great, very confusing at times. Was expensive for a driver who didn't really give us much information on sites. Lunch was included in the tour, don't expect much. We were asked if we wanted fast food and eat in the car. Nothing was planned for lunch. Driver was nice and got us back to the ship in time and picked up from port on time.

It was so easy booking our excursion with VIATOR. My travel agent recommended them as a reliable company, they were also a lot cheaper than our cruise excursions. They kept me up to date, they didn't take payment until 2 days before excursion. We also had the opportunity to cancel if we wanted. Our driver, Mr Thayu, contacted me by what's app in the day to let me know where he would pick us up. He was very informative on the tour he went above and beyond. Would definitely use VIATOR again.

Had a short time (8am to 330 pm) on a Saturday to visit KL. Viator should ask for which cruise ship we are arriving on and times, and then communicate to the driver in advance. Not all of us have email, text or Whatsapp access at the port which makes driver contact difficult.
