The St. Louis Cathedral
Your guide will lead you through the epic courtyard of the Invalides, discussing its 17th century roots as a veteran’s hospital under King Louis XIV. You’ll visit the cathedral that Louis had built for his former troops, who found respite here after returning from battle. After discussing the Sun King’s contributions to France’s military history, you’ll learn all about the nation’s most elite leader, Napoleon Bonaparte. A brilliant general and audacious emperor, he is synonymous with France’s gold days of military conquest. Ultimately pushing too far, Napoleon died in exile, though his remains are interred underneath the magnificent gold dome. Come face to face with his tomb, as well as the tombs of those closest to him, while basking in the ornate homage to this leader. Spend some time in the museum to learn all about this man, beyond his famous stature, through artifacts, recreations, and military maps that walk you through his many wins and defeats.

This tour was brilliant - we had a great tour guide, Michele who was both knowledgeable and passionate about the history of Napoleon. We were very lucky that we were the only ones in the tour so we could ask as many questions as we wanted. The kids enjoyed it too - my daughter was surprised at how quickly the time went. Highly recommended. I'll also note that a visitor at the venue overhead Michele's discussion with us and was so impressed he asked him for his details so he could book a future tour with him.

Florian is a really great, knowledgeable, and passionate guide! If you can spend more than 2 hours here, I’d recommend it because there is just so much to see! If not, you won’t be disappointed and you can always come back another time ;)

Excellent guide. There were only 4 in our group. Learned a lot about Napoleon and his conquests. The church tour was quite interesting but wished we had a little more time to spend in the army museum.

Wonderful tour with Emmanuel - we were running 10 min late due to train service interruption - he was easy to communicate with and it was a great informative tour.
