• Unforgettable trip around Lake Como with Silvia & Luca

  It was a really incredible day. We are spending two weeks in Milan but wanted to see Lake Como, and we got to do that three times over. The tour is from the moment you get off the train till the moment you get back on to leave- basically the entire day. You also feel taken care of the whole way through, as a person in Milan meets you at the station. She then takes you to your train and through ticketing— basically she mistake proofed it, which with language barriers is very helpful. Our lady was named Louisa and she was very nice and accommodating, and even helped us with planning some other parts of our trip, and stayed with us on the train until the train left the station and just made us feel very welcomed. It was above and beyond what she needed to do. Then about halfway to our destination our tour guide got on, Silvia and let me tell you, she was AMAZING! Truly an incredible human. She is so warm and personable, and it being a private tour it was incredibly personalized. She was very knowledgeable about the entire region and Italy as a whole. I’ve been on a lot of tours all over the world and I have to say she was one of the best guides I’ve ever had. Our driver Luca who organized the trip was incredible and knowledgeable as well. We kept to our time well but we never felt rushed, and got to see Bellagio, Menaggio, and Varenna. We had coffee in Varenna at a recommendation of Silvia’s and the coffee and apple strudel was delicious. We also did some shopping, went into Saint Giacomo’s basilica and saw a very beautiful view from a gorgeous outlook Luca showed us. We then stopped to eat in Menaggio, at one of Luca’s recommendations and the food was so delicious, and we got to try some more traditional Northern pasta dishes. Silvia accompanied us at most locations and it really felt like a friend had joined us, while making things like ordering and communicating easier. We also had a little surprise stop at Gravedonna, which had some stunning views, and was even less touristy, though if you’re going in December you’re going to enjoy everywhere…there is enough open on the lake for it to be enjoyable but empty enough for the lakeside to feel like a private paradise. Christmas lights everywhere are everywhere too so there is a warm Christmas vibe in all of these gorgeous little towns. Finally we went to Alpine Valtellina, in the valley, where we saw a small dairy farm of cows and goats. You can tell the animals are all very well cared for, before going into their shop where they sell the milk and cheeses the animals produce. The cheese was delicious. On our way back again Silvia accompanied us and basically stood with us until the very last second, it really just felt like we were so taken care of from beginning to end. The day was completely jam packed, you truly do get your moneys worth. I felt as if we had had four tours in one day, so just a really excellent experience, and the people (Luca and Silvia) really made it. We have another tour with Luca’s company to go into Switzerland next week and we could not be more excited, we were so pleased with them.   The Lake Como experience with Luca was intimate, personal, and exceptionally well organized. From the beginning he created a relaxed atmosphere, took care of every detail, and made the day unfold smoothly. Luca showed us beautiful corners of Lake Como and its surrounding villages, with a great mix of viewpoints, charming streets, and scenic rides. His local stories, clear explanations, and warm personality turned a beautiful tour into a truly unforgettable experience, and this Lake Como day with him was a real highlight of our trip.

  We had a wonderful day trip to Lake Como and its surroundings with Luca. He is kind, dedicated, knowledgeable, and incredibly friendly — always ready to explain everything about his region and to help us discover hidden gems and places off the beaten path. We first met his partner, Nikko, at Milan Central Station. He guided us to the correct platform and even waited until the train departed to make sure we were safely on our way. After a scenic one-hour train ride, we arrived in Varenna, where Luca was waiting for us. He welcomed us into his van and took us through charming villages such as Varenna, Menaggio, and Bellagio, giving us plenty of time to explore while also sharing the history and stories behind each place. Along the way, he made several photo stops at breathtaking viewpoints — spots we would never have found without his guidance. After a delicious traditional lunch in Bellagio, we continued to a valley famous for its wines and cheeses, where we visited a hidden wine cellar and a local cheese shop. Once again, these were places only a true local like Luca could reveal. To finish the day, we enjoyed a beautiful drive along the opposite side of Lake Como before catching our train back to Milan. Thank you, Luca! We will remember this experience for a lifetime, and we will gladly recommend you to anyone who wants to explore the area with a friendly local guide, perfectly organized and far from the big groups.   This tour was absolutely the highlight of our trip! Unlike other large group tours that visit the most popular sites during the most popular times, this one was very well curated and well-paced. We got to visit the same popular places but always missed the crowds by at least 30 minutes! We rode the ferry, train, visited local areas and shops, tasted delicious local cheese and had plenty of time to stroll around and enjoy beautiful scenic views. It was as if we were experiencing life as a local. Our guide Sylvia was warm, friendly and very knowledgeable and our driver was great too. Highly recommend!!!

  Exceptional treatment by Luca himself. Great guy and great hospitality. Everyone was on schedule and comfortable. He works very passionately and very humble. It was as if we are going around with a friend. Highly recommended.

  Such an amazing experience! Everything was well planned and provided the perfect amount of variety: wander quaint lakeside towns, ferry, shopping, lunch, and the best food shop.   Great day with Luca! We had Luca as our tour guide and it was a very nice group of 10 people visiting Varenna, Bellagio and Menaggio together. Luca is a very nice man who speaks English very well. I would definitely recommend this tour. To get the most out of this tour, try to wear sturdy walking shoes as there are cobblestones in some areas.

  Every detail was taken care of. Luca was a wonderful guide and host giving us an opportunity to see northern areas of the lake without many tourists. The tour is a great value.

  Luca’s kind and patient smile, along with his thoughtful explanations, made our day in Como not only full of beautiful scenery but also filled with a sense of warmth and belonging. As we traveled between the islands, everything was perfectly timed — not a single moment wasted — until he personally saw us off on the train back to Milan.
