3.00This was a good tour regarding what we were able to see. The tour guide was probably very knowledgeable. However, it was a struggle to understand some of the things she was saying. This is the first time I have had to work to understand an English speaking guide. Overall I would recommend this tour, I just wish we could have understood our guide better.

1.00Previous to this tour, we took three others with different companies. As soon as we got there the man who checked us in was extremely rude. The rules for the Vatican are no shoulders or provocative bottoms as it’s a religious place. I was wearing a modest skirt and a tank top (and had a jacket to wear once inside). The man (not the tour guide) found the need to tell us multiple times (in front of the entire tour group) that I was dressed inappropriately and needed to go inside and purchase something from them to cover up. I told him that we went to St Peter’s the day before and I was dressed appropriately. His response, “the Vatican is not St. Peter’s”. Needless to say, when we got there… I was dressed MORE than fine. Woman were in tube tops, short shorts, and outfits that were not only extremely revealing, but disrespectful. I found the way the guy handled this to be rude, embarrassing, and out of line. He did this to not only me, but another poor older woman in the group who was dressed fine but her shorts were about an inch above her knee.

1.00We couldn’t understand the tour guide. She was nice and knowledgeable but we could only understand about 20% of what she said.
