I love love lovedddd our guides Clara and .Lala It was wonderful that they split our group into only 8 guests per guide. The Versailles tour was wonderful. The guides had interesting stories (and particularly Clara: she is so funny!) My issue with the tour is that the description wasn't very good. I thought the bike part was going to be a cute little pedal around the Versailles grounds but in fact we pedaled from the train to the grounds and WHOLE bunch more. It's a long day and I imagined (wrongly) a good amount of that would be getting to the property and back. But no, it's only 12 min train from Paris. The rest of the day is a lot of walking an pedaling. Some of the guests were offered an upgrade to an e-bike. When I booked through Viator I didn't have that option and no one mentioned it when we were getting outfitted for the day, but it would have TOTALLY been worth the money. It was cold and very windy...of course there is nothing the tour operator can do about the weather...but I do think the guides could be more thoughtful about when and where to stop (ie don't tell the longest stories in the windiest spots!) Also I wish I had known the bikes would have saddle bags - I would have brought more gear/layers/coats but I was worried about how to carry everything! The market is wonderful. Some participants opted to ride 30 from the market to enjoy a windy picnic but I was so cold I ate in a local little French place near the market instead and that was wonderful. I would have preferred to call it a day at that point but unfortunately after lunch we still had a long day ahead. Marie Antoinette's hamlet is neat but not worth the extra miles. The whole day was just more than I planned and too strenuous. I would totally recommend this tour but get the ebike or only do it in great weather. Tip Clara and Lala. They are darling.

We all enjoyed seeing the village and palace of Versailles. The biking is flat and in autumn the trees are beautiful. There is no tail bike, only the leader so you must be able to keep up with the group’s pace.

What a beautiful day in Versailles with Maya and the team. This is our second tour with them and we cannot say enough about this experience. The communication is incredible from the time you book the tour until they walk you back to the train (if returning to Paris). They are prepared for anything, including appearing with rain ponchos should it begin sprinkling as you are riding. It was such a pleasure to spend time with the staff and our fellow travelers.

We had a very pleasant experience on our bike trip at Versailles with Brian. It was definitely the highlight of our 12-year-old’s trip to Paris. It seemed like equal parts leisurely biking through the quaint town of Versailles, a picnic by the lake on a gorgeous day, exploring the full (Friday morning) farmers market, touring Marie Antoinette‘s private home with gardens, the main Versailles gardens, and a nicely done succinct tour of the inside of Versailles with a separate guide, who was also very engaging and funny. It was a full day. (8-5:30ish including the train ride) this was much different than our first visit to Versailles through a different tour company which was basically just a 4 hour tour of most inner parts of the mansion. (Our daughter would have been so bored with that). We were able to cover so much territory and really get a feel for the past and present. The folks in our group were super nice as was the weather which was helpful.

Maggie with Boutique Bike Tours was awesome. Very patient with a 50 year old that hasn’t ridden a bike in years. The market stop/picnic lunch was a highlight for me. My husband loved the hamlet tour. The château was very crowded; not at all the fault of the tour company but pushing your way through wall to wall people was overwhelming. Mid October was perfect weather wise, not too hot or too cold to bike and the gardens were still open.
