The Mountain of 7 Colors or Rainbow Mountain (Rainbow Mountain) or better known by locals as Cerro Colorado, is located in Vinicunca, province of Quipicanchis, department of Cusco. Its geological formations reveal all their splendor, in contrast to the blue sky, forming a formidable barrier between the coastal desert and the Amazon jungle.
The Vinicunca mountains are one of the spectacular places in the Vilcanota mountain range, awaiting a natural coloration, this coloration is due to the presence of sedimentary stones in erosion. What is impressive is how the stones have been formed to form a set of seven colors. The height of the mountain is approximately 5,000 meters above sea level.
Vinincunca or Mountain of Seven Colors, is one of the great attractions that you should not miss on your trip to Peru, it is included in the list of the 100 places in the World that you must visit before you die. It is a spectacular life challenge that will fill you with vital energy.

The town of Cusipata will be our obligatory stop to enjoy our buffet breakfast and also in the afternoon it will be the place for lunch.
Vinicunca Mountain
TRIP PLAN The adventure begins between 4:00 a.m. m. and 4:30 a.m. m., at which time our transporter will pick you up at your accommodation, after which we will go to the town of Cusipata Around 6:30 am we will arrive in Cusipata where we will enjoy a buffet breakfast. After breakfast, we will begin the ascent along a communal dirt road until we reach 4,800 meters of altitude. Subsequently, we will begin a walk through a 3 km trail, along the way you will enjoy landscapes full of flora and fauna of the Andes. The colorful mountain network will begin to appear little by little, until you reach the viewpoint at 5,000 meters above sea level. Then we will descend along the same path, to board our vehicle and descend to Cusipata. Here you will have a delicious lunch and then return to the imperial city of Cusco. At the end of the Mountain of Colors Tour, you will return to Cusco where our transportation will take you to the city center (approximately 04:30 pm)

5.00It was excellent experience. Our guide is great. We only have 9 people in total and all English speaking - no wasted time listening spanish. It was the best tour I have attended in Peru. Although it was slightly more expensive than other tour, the experience has been far more enjoyable. The food is nice as well. I have been to a few top restaurants in Lima but I had the best ceviche in the buffet lunch.

5.00The whole tour was excellent, they passed us to our Airbnb on the schedule that had been set. Guide and friend Freddy was very friendly and pleased to deal with someone like him. I have no more words to describe but it is a very good option to make the tour.

This trip was absolutely amazing, we were very satisfied with the coordination, from the moment of pickup they were punctual, the food is very rich and varied, the guide helped us a lot during the walk and was attentive to the whole group, the views are breathtaking and I will return without a doubt. Gorki was super friendly, clear and always receptive to every question we had. We feel welcomed and appreciated by all present. 5.00I had an amazing experience visiting the Seven Colors Mountain. From the beginning of the tour, everything was very well organized. The guides were super attentive, professional and very knowledgeable about the area. They patiently explained every detail of the route, the history and the origin of the mountain’s stunning colors. The road was challenging but totally worth it. The landscape is simply spectacular, a combination of nature, culture and adventure that is not experienced every day. In addition, the group was very friendly, which made the trip even more special. Without a doubt, it was an unforgettable and super recommended experience for those who visit Cusco. I felt very well accompanied throughout the journey and returned with a full heart and many beautiful photos 📸❤️
