Your tour begins with transportation from Krakow, either from the hotel you specified or a designated meeting point of your choice. The Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum is located in Oswiecim, approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes away (65 km). All drivers we work with have the necessary EU certifications for passenger transport. You will be accompanied by a friendly, English-speaking group leader who will assist you whenever needed. Upon arrival in Oswiecim, you'll have a brief break to grab a coffee or explore the outdoor exhibitions. Afterward, you’ll be introduced to your local, professional guide, who is officially licensed by the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum.
Panstwowe Muzeum Auschwitz-Birkenau
Begin your tour by walking through the gate of Auschwitz I, the first camp, initially established as a concentration camp for Polish citizens arrested after Germany annexed the country in 1939. You'll pass under the infamous sign "Arbeit Macht Frei" (Work Makes You Free). This portion of the tour typically lasts two hours, during which you'll use a headset to hear your guide clearly. The group size is limited to 30 people, as per the Museum's regulations, ensuring a comfortable and accessible experience for all participants. Explore the original wooden barracks, fortified walls, barbed wire fences, gas chambers, and crematoria, which together leave a haunting impression and allow visitors to grasp the immense scale of the Holocaust.

Booked the trip to auschwitz & salt mines and paid in full at time of booking. Unfortunately our flight was abandoned mid flight due to fog at krakow airport & we couldn’t land, so we returned to the UK. Contacted the company to advise them as soon as we landed back in the UK. They did not offer an alternative date or alternative trip. I understand it is not their fault, however this is an extreme circumstance and £166 is a lot of money to lose. Very poor customer service!

Amazing option to visit fast both the salt mine and Auschwitz-Birkenau. Our driver, Pob, was easy to talk with, he explained us in detail the different phases at each stop and how to move on each site. He was accurate and on time every time we had to meet before and after each visit. Also flexible and supportive to find an earlier entrance time for salt mine, letting us finish the whole tour earlier and have more time to enjoy Kraków in the evening.

The salt mines were amazing. A must see but unfortunately we thought we were also going to Auschwitch. The length of time advised was 10 hours. This made is think that the Auschwitch trip was included. Meaning we missed out on the trip which we were all very much looking forward to. We were then unable to book as it was sold out and we only had 3 days. This was very disappointing. We paid £315 for 4 people which I think is a bit expensive.

Terrible - we thought we booked a full day tour to Auschwitz and the salt mine to find on the day it was salt mines only. When we viewed our confirmation it was ticked for all attractions. If I could give a 0 I would. I am requesting a refund as we’ve be mislead and deceived. We then rebooked with Viator again who then sub contracted to a company called gateway who agreed to pick up at 8.10 they then changed the pickup to 02.10am. And gained entrance at 9 am. Tickets were tickets weren’t pre booked.

We travelled to Krakow primarily to see Auchswitz. We booked the trip titled " Auchswitz , Birkenau and salt mines trip " It advertised all 3 parts of the trip. When We were picked up we were told it was a Salt Mines only . As we return home tomorrow . It's too late to book Auchwitz. It's a complete Rip Off .

We couldn't fault the organisation of our tour. We were picked up at our hotel at the time agreed. Our driver and tour lead Bart was excellent and friendly. Despite the cold and snowy weather, he kept us on track and our spirits high, a great representative of Krakow direct. The minibus we were on was, modern, clean and comfortable. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend or book with Krakow Direct again, first class service.

Absolute deception. We book the tour where it clearly states Auschwitz and salt mines in a day and time 10h. In all the information it appeared as such except in a literal of one of the emails that said only salt mine. When we got on the bus we asked and we were already told it was only going to salt mines. The worst thing was that the operator not only gave no solution but indicated that the error was ours that was very clear everything and send you screenshots of the emails and messages where it came out that was a double excursion of 10h. Totally misleading advertising.

We had a truly wonderful experience on our day trip to Auschwitz and the Salt Mines. Our guide, Peter, went above and beyond from start to finish. He was kind, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable, making us feel comfortable and informed throughout the entire journey. One thing that stood out most was how smoothly everything was arranged — Peter took us directly to each location and ensured we were handed off seamlessly to the on-site guides. We never once felt lost or rushed; he made the logistics effortless so we could focus on the experience. He was amazingly accommodating all day, offering recommendations, answering every question, and checking on our comfort and timing. We truly could not have asked for a better guide — he elevated the entire day. Also worth noting — visiting in November was perfect. It was quiet and not overly crowded, which really allowed us to take in these powerful and historic places with the respect and reflection they deserve. We highly, highly recommend this tour and especially Peter. His professionalism and warmth made this meaningful journey unforgettable.
