Founded on 27 April 1940, Auschwitz became the site of extermination by inhumane conditions and physical destruction of prisoners. It was the biggest death camp of the Nazi regime and during your tour a licensed guide will sensitively take you to see the barbed wire fences, watchtowers, barracks, gallows and gas chambers; these depict the circumstances under which the Nazi genocide took place.

June is a high visitor month. Book as early as possible to secure an English speaking tour. A non-English speaking tour is good as you are provided a guide book. If solo or a pair, have a flexible schedule and can make your way there, you can jump on groups that have some room.

The only thing that let us down was the actual tour guide. She was very hard to understand as it was broken English. She spoke with no empathy at all and spoke away from us. Another person had to tell her to speak towards us.

Had a visit today to Auschwitz-Birkenau, there was good communication from our driver Patryk the night before with time and location of pick-up. He was on time, when we arrived at Auschwitz we had a quick break and offered umbrella’s. We were on our tour with an English speaking guide within no time at all. Patryk was there at the end of the tour to meet us, we had another short break then transferred us to the second part of the tour where the guide met us there. Patryk asked one of us to contact him when we were on our way back and he would meet us back at the drop off point. The whole day was seamless thanks Patryk.
