Experience one of the most memorable lessons of modern history. Visit UNESCO World Heritage Site, a former Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz-Birkenau, where more than a million Jews and other prisoners were oppressed or killed during World War II. The flower strewn Death Wall, national memorials, gas chambers and crematoriums, preserved ruins, the remains of hundreds of barracks, watchtowers, the railway line and ramp - all this forms a moving testimony to the number of those who lost their lives. The tour is led by a sensitive, licensed and local guide which helps to understand the touching history and cruel things that happened there.

[DOCUMENTS] **Full names of all participants MUST be provided during booking (the same as on ID or passport, no nicknames). Passport or ID is MANDATORY for each participant and will be checked. NO ID = NO ENTRY!**
[VISIT] Guided group tour only, no individual pacing. Respectful behavior and smart casual dress required. Eating, smoking, and loud behavior are not allowed.
[PICKUP] Some Krakow hotels are in restricted traffic zones; pickup will be arranged from the nearest accessible point and you will be informed in advance.
[LUNCH] Lunch is not included. There is no time for a full meal between visits, and no food facilities on-site, so please bring a snack.
[SECURITY] An airport-style security check is required before entering the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum.
[WEATHER] The tour runs in all weather. Up to 70% of the visit takes place outdoors, so please dress appropriately and bring water on warm days.
[CHILDREN] Children must be accompanied by an adult. Infant seats are available. Due to the sensitive nature of the site, the tour is recommended for ages 13+.
[PHOTOS] Photography is allowed except in marked areas. Flash is not permitted inside buildings.
[RENOVATIONS] Due to roadworks in western Krakow, pickups in that area are not possible. The Straszewskiego 19 meeting point is temporarily closed. We will arrange a nearby alternative if needed.

Your tour begins with transportation from Krakow (hotel you specified or a meeting point you choose from). Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum is located in the town Oswiecim, about 1h15min in one way (65km). Every driver we cooperate with has all required by EU permissions for passenger transport. An English speaking and friendly leader of the group will assist you at any time you need. After arriving in Oswiecim, have a short break to grab a coffee or keep an eye on outdoor exhibitions.Then be kindly introduced to your local and professional guide who is licensed by Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum.

Start your tour by walking through the gate to the first camp - Auschwitz I - originally conceived as a concentration camp, to be used as a detention centre for the many Polish citizens arrested after Germany annexed the country in 1939, with the most recognizable sign Arbeit Macht Frei (Work Makes You Free).This part usually takes 2 hours and you will be using a headset to hear your guide clearly. The group according to the Museum’s rule counts up to 30 people making the visit comfortable and accessible for every participant. Visit the original wooden buildings, fortified walls, barbed wires, gas chambers and crematoria - all of those leave a shocking impression allowing to imagine the scale of Holocaust.

5.00Difficult to find the words to describe this experience. The tour itself was great. The travel, communication and tour guide was fantastic. To experience Auschwitz itself was one of the saddest experiences of my life. I recommend that everybody should go to see the horrors of the past.

5.00We booked our trip prior to going to Krakow. The communication with Hello Cracow was brilliant, answering any questions within a few minutes. The trip was seamless, we were picked up on time and taken to Auschwitz, Michael was our guide on the journey there and was very friendly and welcoming. We were met by our guide who was very informative and showed us around both Auschwitz and Birkenau. We also used Hello Crakow for another tour around the Jewish Quarter and former Ghetto which again was very organised and informative. I would definitely use them again!

5.00We had Christopher as our guide and we couldn't of had anyone better. From the moment we met him, his knowledge and friendly manner were exceptional. He was so emphatic and caring during our tour, providing his own personal stories. The tour wasn't rushed, Christopher took his time to make sure we were fully informed of the extremely heartbreaking and unimaginable times experienced at both camps. We would also like to say thank you to our guide on the coach, Michal, he was too very friendly and approachable.

5.00We were picked up at the designated stop. It had snowed overnight so the roads were somewhat icy and slushy. However our driver was very competent. The communication from Hello Cracow had been excellent and their representative Michal gave us clear explanations of the plan of the day. The organisation of the whole tour from start to finish was excellent. Our tour leader was Jakob. His knowledge was second to none. At all times he was respectful and dealt with the harrowing details of Auschwitz and Birkenau sensitively, choosing his words carefully. What a moving, disturbing, heart-rending and memorable day.

5.00The tour was very interesting and understandably quite upsetting in places. The tour with the guide speaking to us with headphones on made sure that it was still somber, even though it was very busy. Well worth a visit and respectfully done.
