Our captains and crew have over 25 years of experience boating and whale watching on Maui. This experience combined with the small group allows for an intimate and engaging experience and you will have all your whale questions answered. Family-owned and operated. Equipped with a hydrophone on board to hear the whales underwater.

5.00We had an incredible experience! Captain Emma found a competition whale group that entertained and amazed us. The two little girls with us were absolutely fascinated and thrilled. Will definitely use this company again.

5.00Incredible 2 hours on the most beautiful blue waters, spotting several whales. The highlight was seeing a baby and its mother. Captain Emma explained about their behavior & their male escort, and later gave us color commentary when we saw what looked like a kerfuffle between several males. Being head-bumped by a humpback must be tough, even for another humpback! The entire crew was very knowledgable and as enthusiastic and delighted about watching the whales as we were! Definitely the highlight of our time in Hawaii!

5.00We loved the personal small group experience we had with Maui Ocean Adventures. There was plenty of comfortable seating on the boat, and we could get up and move around for better whale-viewing opportunities. The crew did their best to make sure we saw multiple whales even though it was the end of the season.

5.00This is a must do tour! You can observe whales from the shore, but this tour got us close up and personal with the whales. Emma was our guide and she was enthusiastic and kind with all questions. Small group on boat so was comfortable and great viewing for all. Just awesome!!!

5.00Over the years we have taken many whale watching tours with various companies while on Maui. Without hesitation, Maui Ocean Adventures provided the most comfortable, informative and enjoyable experience of all. Our captain, Emma, was a knowledgeable and passionate source when describing what we were viewing as we came upon various whales throughout the tour. We had many encounters, however the interaction between a mother and baby whale defied words. It was clear they felt safe near our pink boat and allowed us the opportunity to observe them up close and personal as they freely swam along side and under our vessel. It was a picture perfect day for whale watching as well as for viewing the Big Island over 100 miles away in the distance. The boat is extremely clean and comfortable and allows for small group interaction. This women owned company is rallying to rebuild their business after the Lahaina fires, and is doing so by offering a top notch experience for young and old alike. You will not regret booking your tour with Maui Ocean Adventures !!!

5.00This was one of our favorite things to do I. Maui! It’s a once in a lifetime experience, thank you so much to Shannon and Emma for making the experience so funny and entertaining while we waited to find the whales. They not only are funny but very educational. We saw the most whales we’ve ever seen before and got to even hear them through a hydrophone! 10/10 recommend!

5.00Shannon and Emma were so knowledgeable and friendly! We got so lucky with our tour and saw a huge pod of whales and even could hear the whales communication with the hydrophone that our amazing tour guides provided! I would recommend this tour to anyone wanting a great time on the water, see whales in their natural habitat up close & learn new things about these amazing animals! I’ll be back soon!!
