Joy Journeys always care for our client's experience. All of our tours have a small group with maximum of 10 guests visiting Cu Chi Tunnels. Our group will spend most of the time at Ben Duoc Tunnels which is well-known as the less-crowded, less-busy, and more authentic experience time in Cu Chi.
Our tour offers a unique opportunity to witness the war history of Vietnam by exploring the underground Cu Chi Tunnels. You'll have the chance to see the booby traps used during the war and explore the ex-US Army tank from the Vietnam War by touching it.
Additionally, you'll be able to crawl inside the tunnels of Cu Chi and taste the locally grown Viet Cong food, tapioca, next to the tunnels. Finally, you'll witness the propaganda of Viet Cong soldiers in Tan Phu Trung Ward and experience the underground Hoang Cam kitchen.
The highlight of the tour is when you can experience crawling into the Tunnels to feel what it was like during the war.

Ben Duoc tunnel complex
The Cu Chi Tunnels, located in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, were an extensive network of underground tunnels that served as a critical strategic location during the Vietnam War. Constructed over several years, the tunnels spanned more than 250 kilometers and were made up of multiple layers, including living quarters, kitchens, meeting rooms, hospitals, and even schools. The tunnels were dug by hand, using rudimentary tools such as shovels, hoes, and picks, and the workers would remove the soil from the tunnels and conceal it in nearby fields to avoid detection. Navigating through the Cu Chi Tunnels was a complex task, requiring specialized knowledge and training. The tunnels were narrow, with a height of only a few feet, and were often filled with traps and obstacles, such as spike pits and hidden doors. The Viet Cong soldiers were trained to move silently and quickly through the tunnels, using their knowledge of the terrain to avoid detection.

The tour was well organised and our guide, Ken, was very knowledgeable with a great sense of humour. It is a very humbling place to visit but is definitely a place that you must visit. Well worth the extra time to go out to the less crowded Tunnels after talking to other people that went to the usual Tunnels that everyone goes to.

This is a bit further than the more touristy tunnels so you should expect approximately a 2 hour drive to get there. There is also a stop at a craft shop where handicapped people affected by the war create different handmade items. The tunnels were indeed not crowded and overall an interesting experience if you want to learn more about the history! Tommy was kind enough to share a lot of information about the conditions and history of the tunnels and rge war in general.

I can recommend this tour to Cu Chi Tunnels. As promised, there were not too many other tourists, the place gives a fascinating insight into the ingenious methods used by the vietkongs. Our tour guide was a bit too busy sharing his own views and life story and not much else in the first part of the tour but helped us to understand the Vietnamese way once at the tunnels.

We were taken on this tour by Safa. He was quite funny and spoke really good English. He spoke about all areas of the tunnels and was able to give us a lot of information. It definately was less crowded and we were able to get around with ease.

Best trip ever The information and education we received was something that would have taken us ages to have worked hard to gather had it not been for our tour guide Safa. This experience was the best we had in Vietnam and we did sooo many The cu chi tunnels are a complete must to go to And if you’re lucky you’ll get the charismatic Safa- he’s basically an encyclopaedia and a powerful orator so he keeps you hooked to your seat craving for more information. And the tunnels themselves- there’s nothing quite like them. History buff or not- just do it I could go on and on but honestly without exaggeration just do not miss out on this opportunity and experience Truly eye opening and life changing
