    When I think back on my trip to Puerto Plata, one thing stands out above all else — our incredible tour guide, Jonathan. From the moment we met him, his energy set the tone for the day. Funny, knowledgeable, and endlessly attentive, he didn’t just guide us through the city — he brought Puerto Plata to life. What impressed me most about Jonathan was the way he mixed history with local flavor. Instead of just rattling off facts, he told stories — about the people, the culture, and the little moments that make Puerto Plata unique. Whether it was explaining the significance of a landmark or sharing a local legend, he had a way of making everything feel alive and memorable. Highlights of the City Tour Our stops included some of Puerto Plata’s most iconic attractions: The Cable Car Ride – sweeping views of the city and the ocean that felt even more special thanks to Jonathan’s insights. Fortaleza San Felipe – where he wove history with humor, making centuries-old stories feel fresh. Local Markets & Streets – where he encouraged us to interact, taste, and experience daily life beyond the tourist trail. At each stop, Jonathan didn’t just point things out — he gave context and meaning. He patiently answered questions, cracked jokes that had our whole group laughing, and even offered to snap photos so no one missed capturing the memories. I’ve been on many guided tours, but Jonathan stood out because he made everyone feel included and comfortable. He kept the pace just right — enough time to explore without ever feeling rushed. His attentiveness meant he noticed when someone looked curious or confused, and he’d jump in with an explanation or a story. That personal touch turned the tour from good to unforgettable.
