This Monkey Home and Damajagua waterfalls tour offers pick up at all Puerto Plata hotels, as well as both Taino Bay and Amber Cove cruise ports.
A tour to keep an eye out for wildlife such as squirrel monkeys as you go. Then stop and, under the supervision of the staff, place a plate of fruit for the monkeys to approach you.
After your visit to Monkey Home, we will then go all the way to Damajagua Waterfalls, where you will be able to take the tour in 7 different pools, jumping and sliding. Throughout the tour, see for yourself how a local lives in the area without electricity or running water. Also learn about the history and cultural traditions of this Caribbean island.

Damajagua Waterfalls
The Damajagua Waterfalls, also known as the 27 Waterfalls of Damajagua, are a series of natural waterfalls and pools located in the northern part of the Dominican Republic, near Puerto Plata. Visitors can hike through the jungle, jump, slide, and swim through these cascading falls, making it a popular spot for adventure tourism and eco-tourism. The name “Damajagua” refers to the river that feeds the waterfalls.

You’ll visit Monkey Home where you can feed monkeys fruit. Enjoy a smooth ride over to Moneky Home and enjoy a ride with special drivers that can speak English. Keep an eye out for wildlife, such as squirrel monkeys, as you go. Then, stop and with the supervision of staff, put out a plate of fruit to get the monkeys to come to you.

5.00Great experience hiking to and sliding down waterfalls. The waterfalls were beautiful! The guides were fun and kept everyone moving (with pauses on the hike for various athletic abilities). Be sure to bring water shoes! You’ll be walking over rocks for about a hour. There are bathrooms where you can change before/after. We also enjoyed playing with the monkeys. They are very friendly. We got some great pictures!

5.00Leury was an amazing driver, host, etc. Leury made the trip. The falls were so much fun and the monkeys were super cute. Good value for the money. Water socks are great but I wish I brought a ratty pair of throw away sneakers. The can be hard on your feet if you're not used to it.

5.00Aribel was super friendly and an amazing tour guide, he truly know the spots and will take care of you. Extremely nice and courteous! The waterfalls were very fun and the hike was moderate! Beautiful area and a beautiful tour!

5.00The Damajuaga falls are something that everyone should experience.The nature is unbelievable. Monkey home was a fantastic place. We had a great time there. The squirrel monkeys are so much fun.

5.00This was a lot of work and a lot of fun, It is a strenuous walk up the to the waterfalls, but definitely worth it. I suggest buying your own watershoes. The ones they have to rent hurt my feet. It was exhilarating going down the waterfalls. The pictures were great too, but you have to pay for them. The monkeys are so adorable and fun. This is a treat for the whole family,

5.00Me and my daughter Had a wonderful experience with the monkeys and the staff. We were able to get some great pictures of the monkeys on our head, shoulders, and arms. Would highly recommend and it’s way cheaper than what the cruise ship charges for the excursion.

5.00By far our favorite expedience of our cruise. Aribel was an amazing tour guide. He is kind and goes out of his way to make the tour interesting and the best experience. It really makes an experience 5 stars when the activities are this fun, and the guides are kind. For example, my husband lost his watch in the damajagua falls. They didn’t have to, but guides went back and found it in the murky deep pools and brought it back to us. Then, Aribel noted members of our group liked a certain hot sauce for lunch. He stopped at a store and bought some for the members of our group. Truly a top notch guide. Gesly at th monkeys made sure we had plenty of time with monkeys crawling on us- unforgettable! An amazing honeymoon excursion for my husband and I.
