Cu Chi Tunnels
We’ll pick you up at your Ho Chi Minh City hotel in the early morning, and you’ll travel with your English-speaking guide to the Cu Chi tunnels. The drive is around 60 km. At Cu Chi, you’ll be shown a documentary film about the tunnels and learn how the locals made bamboo traps, rice paper, and rice wine. You’ll then have the opportunity to explore the web of underground tunnels dug by Vietnamese resistance fighters.
My Tho
After exploring the tunnels, we’ll drive to My Tho. This is one of the provinces that comprise the Mekong Delta area. We’ll cruise by boat along the upper Mekong through a region with islands named after 4 animals that appear in Buddhist writings – Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix, and Turtle. On this part of the tour, you’ll observe some of the activities of regional Vietnamese daily life and appreciate how life here depends on the River. We’ll then take you on a trip by rowboat along the small waterways. You’ll see the agricultural richness of the delta region in its fruit orchards, coconut groves, and bee-keeping farms. We’ll stop so you can enjoy honey tea, seasonal fruit, fresh coconut candy, and southern Vietnamese folk music. At the end of our tour, we’ll drive back to Ho Chi Minh City and drop you off at your hotel at around 19:00.
Transfer by Car or Minivan: We will pick you up from your hotel located in districts 1, 3, 4, 5, and 7.

What a day! Everything was deal - Hannah, our guide, made everything so easy and comfortable. The trip was the perfect pace, great level of historical information, banter, personal story sharing and quiet time. The trip was exactly as described and did not disappoint. We did the 10 hour trip and really felt we got to tick a lot of boxes. Thanks!

We had a great time on the Cu chi tunnels and Mekong Delta private tour. Jen was a great guide and knowledgeable about the history. Our driver took us around smoothly and safely. We first stopped at center where handicap Vietnamese handmade goods. There is a shop where you can purchase some of them. There is a stand where you can purchase fruit and drinks. Also, there was a rest room. We then headed to the tunnels. It’s quite the experience. We had a full tour and had the opportunity to go in and out of several tunnels. After this we drove to the Mekong rest stop for lunch. We requested no seafood in advance and they honored it. Please be aware drinks are not included so you will have to pay for them. The lunch was good overall as it included several items such as spring rolls, sticky rice, miso soup, pork skewers, chicken, fruit platter, etc. Everything was tasty. From there we went on a boat across the delta. We walked to tables where they served us some tropical fruit (jack fruit, pomelo, mango, pineapple, and watermelon). The local folks sang several songs and we left a tip in their tip jar. You then go to a bee farm. They sell their local honey and other items. After that, we took a ride down the delta on a canoe. It was very relaxing. We went to see the coconut candy making process then headed back across the delta on the larger boat. From there we drove back to our hotel. Thanks Jen!

Actually being at the Cu Chi tunnels and being able to picture in a small way what it may have been like. The cruise in the Mekong afterwards was a perfect wind down after an amazing lunch. Our guide Bunny was very friendly and knowledgeable, we really enjoyed the day.
