I will lead you through ancient forests, past extinct craters, and across the moon-like lava fields that testify to Etna's dynamic nature.

We will visit a volcanic cave, a lava tube and I will share the rich geological history of Mount Etna with the breathtaking view of the Valle del Bove.

We'll cap off the morning's adventure with a visit to a traditional Sicilian farm, where you can indulge in a tasting of local products and wines. It's the perfect way to relax and reflect on the morning's experiences while enjoying the flavors of Sicily.

I do my tours with all my passion and my experience is flexible, can be tailored to suit your needs, including the extras but I need to plan it. Write me in advance.

Mount Etna

I will lead you through ancient forests, past extinct craters, and across the moon-like lava fields that testify to Etna's dynamic nature. We'll walk and explore the area at 2000 meters, and old lateral craters. We will visit a volcanic cave, a lava tube and I will share the rich geological history of Mount Etna with the breathtaking view of the Valle del Bove. We'll cap off the morning's adventure with a visit to a traditional Sicilian farm, where you can indulge in a tasting of local products and wines. It's the perfect way to relax and reflect on the morning's experiences while enjoying the flavors of Sicily. Since the 2nd of October 25 , you need a ticket to visit the small Silvestri Crater. We'll visit others for free, but if you wanna go to the small one, there is an entry ticket of 5 euro per person.

This tour was the highlight of our 10 days in Sicily. There were just two of us so it was basically a private tour. We learned so much from Saro. He is very knowledgeable about everything including the history, farming, geology and more regarding the mountain, Catania and the surrounding area. It's very windy at 2000 meters so you'll need a windbreaker at least, even on a hot day. Going inside a lava tube is not to be missed.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had a wonderful experience on the Etna tour with Saro! He is very experienced, well-organized, and thoughtful. Before the tour, he contacted us and arranged everything clearly. He picked us up from our hotel in Catania right on time and was very flexible throughout the day. During the drive, Saro introduced us to Catania and Mount Etna with great humor and energy. He’s extremely knowledgeable about Etna, other volcanoes, and geology, and he explained everything in such an engaging way that we never felt tired of listening. My father wasn’t feeling well before the tour, and Saro was very considerate, he adjusted the plan so my father could rest at a café comfortably. Later, we also visited a lovely farm, which my parents absolutely loved. It was an amazing and memorable day. We’d definitely love to join Saro’s other tours in the future. Highly recommended! 🌋🌿

This seems to be a trend in these reviews, and for good reason — Saro is the absolute best guide!! My wife and I have been on many tours and Saro truly was the best guide we’ve had, he’s energetic, fun, and extremely knowledgeable. We learned so much about Mt Etna and the surrounding area and had a blast during our day. Pick up and drop off from the cruise port was a breeze as well. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for an excursion! Pro tip: bring more layers than you’d expect for going to the top of Etna. Luckily Saro provided spare clothing and equipment for our group. This ain’t his first rodeo…

Great experience! I was looking for a small group tour to see Mt Etna and Saro met all of our expectations. He is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about volcanoes. The hike was entertaining and also informative. This was a highlight of our Sicily vacation and would definitely recommend for an intimate experience.

This was a fantastic tour, mainly due to our guide Sora. On the previous day Sora messaged me to confirm the pickup time and place then on the morning of the tour was actually a little early. The tour group was only eight people which was a good size. The weather on Mt Etna was cold, windy and wet but Sora did his best to make us comfortable with jackets, beanies and gloves, and gave each of us a walking pole to help with the uneven ground. The best part was Sora’s incredible knowledge of Mt Etna, volcanology and Sicilian history as well as his great sense of humour which kept us constantly informed and entertained. The stop at a local farm to taste their produce and wine was an added bonus.

Highly recommended! Saro is a very personable tour guide with very good expertise. He took us to enormously beautiful places and made the tour very individual. It is also very feasible for older people. A highlight was a small farm with local delicacies. Mille Grazie for this unforgettable experience!

Had the best time with my wife on Saro’s tour. One of the highlights of our entire Sicily trip. Saro was super welcoming and friendly and understands Etna so well. 10/10 would recommend.

Saro is a passionate, knowledgeable and experienced guide. My husband and I had an unbelievable experience! We learned about Etna, her craters and eruptions and more. We even went inside a lava tube. So cool! The views during the easy hike were breathtaking. This is a “must do” excursion. I recommend Saro as a guide; 100 percent. This was our best day during our stay in Sicily.

This experience was really nice and rich in content! An interesting and varied tour that led me and my family to discover Etna in a new way and also different from the usual tours. Saro is really phenomenal, nice, prepared and makes you want to come back and deepen the mysteries of the volcano!
