Piazzale Michelangelo
After visiting the historic center, having traveled on the banks of the river, crossed the bridges, given the majesty of Palazzo Pitti and the small artisan shops of the Oltrarno district, it is time to climb the hill and see Florence in all its splendor from a unique vantage point: Piazzale Michelangelo.
Piazza Santa Croce
Once you get off the Piazzale Michelangelo it is time to go back to the center, but before the tour comes to an end we will once again pass by the river, in front of the National Library and the enchanting square of Santa Croce. The Basilica of Santa Croce located in the square is the principal Franciscan church in Florence, Italy, and a minor basilica of the Roman Catholic Church. It is situated on the Piazza di Santa Croce, about 800 meters south-east of the Duomo. The site, when first chosen, was in marshland outside the city walls. It is the burial place of some of the most illustrious Italians, such as Michelangelo, Galileo, Machiavelli, the poet Foscolo, the philosopher Gentile and the composer Rossini, thus it is known also as the Temple of the Italian Glories. When Stendhal visited the Basilica of Santa Croce he was overcome with emotion. He wrote: I was in a sort of ecstasy, from the idea of being in Florence, close to the great men whose tombs I had seen. Absorbed in the contemplation of sublime beauty ... I reached the point where one encounters celestial sensations ... Everything spoke so vividly to my soul. Ah, if I could only forget. I had palpitations of the heart, what in Berlin they call 'nerves'. Life was drained from me. I walked with the fear of falling.

Luca took us on our tour of Florence which was really good fun. Most of the tour information was pre-recorded but Luca added to that with his own stories (some of them very tall tales which were funny), chat and singing. Well worth the money and a great way to see Florence.

We had a lovely time with our very knowledgeable driver, Alex. Alex was very friendly and engaging and took us to places and sites we never knew existed in Florence. Well worth the trip.

For the price - I was really disappointed. The info was minimal. The guide was nice enough but not great. The only win was a quick overview of the city by golf cart on a 100+ degree day (not walking!) and the panoramic view of Florence at the end of the tour. Compared to the other tours I’ve booked through Viator - this one was a bust for the price.

Lucca and Olga were fantastic! Great experience! Their knowledge of the sites made it interesting even for our kids.

We did a golf cart tour of Florence and it was an incredible way to see the city. Our guide, Alex, spoke excellent English, which made it especially enjoyable for us as first-time visitors to Italy. The tour was well-organized and very informative—at each stop, we could listen to an English audio guide that explained the fascinating history of the places we visited. A highlight was reaching Michelangelo Square, where we were treated to a stunning view of Florence and had time for plenty of photos. Alex was friendly, knowledgeable, and even recommended a great restaurant pizza Giotto for us to try afterward. This golf cart tour was one of the best experiences of our trip.
