We had a good time! We already went on a similar Mekong Delta tour last time we were in HCMC and we wanted to repeat the same one because we had a great time but we couldn't find the exact one and this one seemed like it could be the most similar. The pickup place was the same and everything was pretty similar but we had a better time the first time. The guide we had this time I would consider average, he was a nice man but didn't explain as much history as the first one and made a lot of funny jokes but a lot were a bit sexist which we found a little annoying. Also last time we had free coconuts included in the price and this time we had to pay separate, it probably wasn't very expensive but we missed when it was included. Also the last stop where we had lunch was nicer the first time. I would still recommend this tour but it was a bit of a bummer that it wasn't as good as the first time. (The price was either the same or very similar).

How was our guide. He was very knowledgeable & spoke fluent English and Cantonese.... we had mixed nationalities on the trip. An Travel were also very organised and communicative. There was a lot packed into the trip but not a lot of time at each. However, it was enjoyable overall. We loved the Samphan boats and the other boat rides but were disappointed that some things were left out. We didn't get to pull the honey tray out a hive as per photos on the trip page or didn't get to look at the hives full stop. We were only able to sample the honey in some tea. We didn't get to ride the bikes in the village and the bottled water wasn't dished out. I asked How for ours. The worst part was lunch for us though. I'm vegetarian & was served meat spring rolls. I hadn't noticed until I bit into my second spring roll. In total, I ate a meat spring roll, a bit of tofu and a potato when I spotted a big black hair amongst the vegetables. My boyfriend doesn't eat veg. His only options were plain rice and chicken. However, the chicken was some horrid looking boned pieces. He'd already been put off however, as he'd seen 3 dead rats floating down the gulley immediately behind the open air restaurant. Not a place to be eating food in our opinion. Needless to say, we were done and starving for the day. Luckily, I ate some fruit when we visited one of the earlier stops and bought us both an ice cream when we got back to our stop after the Mekong boat ride. I think the trip was enjoyable but needs the dots joining a bit more and a bit of tweaking. I'd absolutely say change the restaurant location and have it on mainland in a decent, built up restaurant, but give the option for people to book with or without food. I'd take a few snacks in this case. Again, the Samphan boats were fantastic and I even bought some Vietnamese coffee off a stall besides the boat dock which was a decent price. The lady also sold Cocoa powder and some dried sweet coconut. I wanted to leave 3.5 stars. Had to knock off for restaurant experience and those things missed out.
