Kyudo is a Japanese martial art based on shooting an arrow from a Japanese bow to a target to reach a complete focus of mind and body. The main difference of kyudo and western archery is that, in kyudo, every movement follows a traditional routine that pays respect to the equipment and to the opponent. You will come to the archery range and dress in an authentic kyudo uniform, which will include dogi—the upper wear—and hakama—the lower wear. I'll give a brief explanation about the art of kyudo as well as instructions and demonstrations. With the knowledge you'll gain, you will learn to shoot arrows at the target. You'll also understand the fun and challenging aspect of the sport, particularly while wearing the traditional hakama and armor. Usually in kyudo, you are not allowed to pull the arrow unless you master the basics. But during our lesson, you will be able to enjoy the real kyudo experience even as a complete beginner. It will be a great time if you are looking for a nice photo or movie to show to your friends.

4.00An hour long experience for four people with two guides . Introduces us to archery. Meeting point instructions could be clearer. Parking nearby is a bit of a nightmare. Give yourselves enough time.

3.00We loved the experience but we could not appreciate the host not speaking English and being very stressed on us touching any of the equipment which is authentic and expensive. Having been with the kids we had to control every their move rather than just enjoying it together. Host had no education skills neither patience. cool though to have a costume.

5.00We absolutely loved our experience with the Japanese Archery team! My husband didn’t want to follow proper form, but we both eventually learned proper form! It was a fun, authentic experience while in Hiroshima and would recommend to our friends. frim but fair competition!! If you get all 8 (we didn’t) you get a special spot on the wall!

5.00This was a very fun activity to do together. We learned the proper way to shoot a Japanese bow and then had practice rounds before our several round competition. The Girls team won... yay!! The arrows curved when you shot, so it was an interesting experience.
