Nishi Honganji
We will begin our visit at the impressive Amidadomon Gate of Honganji Temple, the majestic entrance to Nishi Honganji Temple, regarded as one of Japan’s greatest cultural treasures and designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Accompanied by a knowledgeable guide, we’ll discover its prayer halls, ancient wooden structures, and traditional gardens that convey the serenity and essence of Japanese Buddhism. After the guided tour, you’ll have free time to explore the temple at your leisure and capture photos of this historic and harmonious setting.
Next, we’ll continue to the modern Kyoto Station, a true icon of contemporary Japanese architecture. There, you’ll enjoy the Daikandan light show, a spectacular artistic display that transforms the grand central staircase into a gigantic illuminated screen, with projections that pay tribute to Japanese culture.
