Macorix House of Rum

The Macorix Rum House is a historical museum of the Macorix Rum Family. Founded in 1899 by the Carrion family of the town of San Pedro de Macoris, a place considered by many to be the land of poets, artists, and sugarcane. 110 years later, Ron Macorix became part of the Vinicola del Norte family of the port city of Puerto Plata, uniting two emblematic rum-producing towns in the Dominican Republic. You will also have the opportunity to taste six types of rum after leaving the museum.

    This was a great tour of Puerto Plata and our tour guide and driver were the best! Amazing day! We learned a lot about the city and the country, it was like spending the day with family! We celebrated their Independence Day with a parade and witnessed so much pride and joy, it was wonderful! Highly recommend!

    The tour was a great experience. It was a lot of fun: the rum factory, the chocolate factory, the cigar factory and walking down Umbrella Alley were highlights for me. We learned a lot about how the products were made. We also had the opportunity to eat at a local restaurant. The tour was a nice balance of travel and walking. Our tour guide Samuel was very knowledgeable and very nice. Our driver was also very nice and professional. I would definitely utilize this tour company again.

    This was a great tour to get a taste of Puerto Plata’s main highlights. Our favorite part was the cigar factory/store. Very cool experience. Our tour guide was very informative, kind, and accommodating. We highly recommend this tour.

    We had an amazing time on this tour! Edwin was our tour guide and he went above and beyond. The transportation was comfortable and Edwin was a great communicator. He also knew a ton of great spots for photos.

    My husband and I had a great time today with Edwin Tours. We got to see the city of puerto plata and the beautiful things they offer. Be prepared for a day full of rum, cigars, pictures, photos and laughs. The van came on time and it was clean and air conditioned. I will definitely tour with them again.
