Very rushed and they wanted to do all the work for you rather than showing and letting you have a go. All ingredients were pre prepared. Not even sure if the meal was the ones we made at the end. Charged surcharge on the drinks as well as another way to get yr money. Be careful. Definitely not worth doing. If your motel offers it do it there. And the market tour was woeful

A really well organised class. Informal, friendly, lots of participation, and led by a chef who was clearly an expert. Thank you Made. We cooked 9 dishes, which later became lunch. The group was broken into three tables of four and each group cooked the same dish. Had a couple of beers as we cooked, warm and comfortable (lots of fans). Would definitely recommend!

This experience was great value for money. We had a lovely time learning about the types of food used, the Balinese culture and how to make 9 different dishes. Our instructor Made was a surely knowledgeable and interesting and all the staff here made us feel welcome - they ever brought out a cake and music to celebrate my birthday that day! The class was only 10 people and everyone had a turn at the different stages of food making. We got to try samples along the way before sitting down to a gigantic lunch of all the dishes we made. We were given a recipie book to take home as well as great memories and photos!

The Best Balinese Cooking Class. This was an amazing workshop class accompanied by Jimmy, balanese chef. We started at 8 am visting the local market, where we learned about indonisean fruit, veggies and spices used for cook. Then we got back to the restaurant named ChefWarung Nia to start our learning. In total we learnt to prepare 8 dishes including different Spice Paste for chicken, seafood and pork. Also incredibles and tasty salads also. Dishes were Ayam Betutu-Bali, Be Celeng Base Manis, Sate Ayam, Tum Ayam, Lawar, Pesan Be Pasih, Pecelan, Mie Goreng, Nasi Goreng Ayam & Urab jagung. Now excited to get back home to put in pratice all these recipes. In fact now, I obtained new knowledges how to obtain new flavours and tasty food with the combination of garlic, echalot, different types of gingers, tumeric, limo, lemon grass, peanuts, wallnuts and red hot chillies. Fantastic !

The class was fun and informative! We enjoyed touring the food market and learning about local ingredients. We cooked many Balinese dishes and they turned out delicious! Our class guide did a great job explaining things and showing us how to cook the food. We would highly recommend!

Loved this cooking class! As a solo traveller I felt completely included—the chef was fun, welcoming, and created a great atmosphere. Well-organised, spotless kitchen, and so much laughter while learning. A real highlight of my trip!

This wasn't my first cooking class, yet it was the first time I've done one in this instruction style. First, this is a group style cooking/eating; meaning you are jointly prepping shared dishes rather than individual portions (which is what I was used to). I'm personally not a fan because I'm a firm believer that you can't eat at everyone's house. Second, you are partially prepping 9 dishes. Key word, partially. I lost interest half way through because I was watching most of the time and not doing. You'd partially prep something and then the instructors aids would wish the dishes away to finish cooking in their kitchen. Third, the class sizes are massive, talking 20-40 people. Way too large in my opinion. Fourth, you're prepping for 4 hours if not longer. The group was starving since most skipped on breakfast. Finally, the final meal was super underwhelming. Only 1/3 of the dishes were actually tasty. Everything else was bland or super dry.
