Schloss Neuschwanstein

Meet at 08.10AM house number Karlsplatz 21/Stachus next to the Buddy hotel. Departure 08:30AM from Munich and head towards the municipality of Schwangau, near the village of Hohenschwangau– home to the famous Hohenschwangau Castle and your main destination: Neuschwanstein Castle. Guide Tour conducted in Englisch and Snacks and drinks are included . Around 10:00AM -Arrival im Neuschwanstein. You can reach the castle either on foot (about 30–40 minutes uphill walk ) or by shuttle Bus(subject to weather conditions). Explore King Ludwig II’s iconic fairy-tale castle and learn about its fascinating history and architecture. Recommended Sight: Marienbrücke (Mary’s Bridge- Closed during winter months) – Offers a breathtaking panoramic view of Neuschwanstein Castle, the Pöllat Waterfall, and the surrounding Bavarian Alps. This iconic view provides the perfect opportunity for unforgettable photos. Free time after the tour to make shopping and Enjoy lunch at your own leisure.

After lunch, we will make a short stop of approximately 30 minutes in the charming village of Oberammergau. You’ll have time to stroll through the picturesque streets and browse for beautiful souvenirs. Oberammergau is world-famous for its Passion Play, performed every ten years. The play dramatically retells the last five days in the life of Jesus Christ and draws visitors from around the globe. Oberammergau cannot be accessed from early December to the end of March due to weather conditions.

It was a great experience, even tho hot out. Lots of stairs and walking but it was worth it in the end. Monica was very informative and Vladdy a skilled and maneuvering driver. I even listened to a podcast about King Ludwig as we drove back to home base! Beautiful castles!

Was a great experience. The guide gave great information about the tour stops. I would have loved more time at the last two stops (only 30 and then 45) and less time at the first (3 hours)

Courtney, our tour guide, was fantastic. She had great knowledge of the area (Bayern/Bavaria). She was organized, systematic, flexible, clearly communicates in both English and German, and overall a lovely person. The tour was exactly as expected: informative, smooth, wonderful experience, and comfortable even when the outside temperatures were +33C. The airconditioned bus had comfortable seats, bathroom, and a snackbar with fruit, snacks (crackers, chocolate, chocolate waffers....) and drinks (water, coffee, cafe-latte). Concluding the tour was a bottle of ice cold Augustinebräu München Lagerbier Hell was excellent. As a group of 27, we reminisced about the nice tour, and the castles as we had a beer together.
