This underground tour of the Catacombs takes you deeper into the unusual history of Rome, far below its busy streets and towering monuments to the concealed side of this ancient city.

The itinerary includes some of the most uncommon and mysterious sites of the Eternal City.

Panoramic open bus bring you from the city center to the Rome underground venue of the catacombs. This extensive network of tunnels snaking underground was once both a burial ground and a place of worship for the first Christians in Rome. With an expert guide you’ll explore and hear the fascinating history of these sacred places.

Catacombs tour is not recommended for travelers who may get claustrophobic due to the small spaces.

The tour was late starting. The meeting place was about 10 minutes walk away from when we got on the bus. The bus was filthy. The 2 hour tour consisted of 1 hour’s travel and 1hr in the Catacombe. We had the tour in English. We noted from our ticket that the tour in English cost just 10 Euros. The tour guide was Italian and her English was very difficult to understand, but it was very interesting. The bus driver was very impatient to get going at the end despite group members needing the WC. Not worth the money. If you’re part of a group it may be cheaper getting an Uber/taxi.

Awesome. good day to go. The weather was perfect. The catacombs were exactly what I expected. our bus driver and semi tour guide Alejandro was awesome.

Alessandro (driver) was great and showed us parts of Italy on the way over to the catacombs! The catacombs felt very quick, as it is an explore on your own after the initial teaching of what inscriptions and tombs there were. It was very interesting and peaceful there, and it was very cool to have the drive over and hear more about Rome

Our bus driver Alessandro was absolutely amazing! From the very first moment, he welcomed us with a big smile and made everyone feel comfortable. He drove us safely through the busy streets of Rome and handled the traffic like a true pro. We were so impressed by his calm attitude, great sense of humor, and the way he kept the good vibes going throughout the whole trip. Alessandro really went above and beyond to make our journey smooth and fun. Thank you so much for being such a great driver and person — highly recommended!

Allesandro our driver was great! Very informative and fun. I highly recommend doing a tour with him. The catacombs are deep underground and a bit creepy but I enjoyed the experience very much and would also recommend if you fancy getting out of the city and doing something a bit different.
