5.00This was a fabulous tour of the underground/ arena and we would do this tour again! Be flexible and allow enough time to meet your representative and gather your tickets before your official tour time. It can be frustrating to go through a third party for tickets, but it was fairly smooth and the tour (by an official Colosseum employee!!) was amazing. The tour of the Forum (from this company) did a great job and paced the Forum tour well.

The Forum that followed tied everything together—the politics behind the spectacle. The pacing was ideal, never rushed, never slow. I left understanding not just what Rome built, but why.

5.00We booked the Colosseum tour with Trip in Italy and it was one of the absolute highlights of our time in Rome. Our guide, Teddy, was outstanding from start to finish. He had that rare ability to bring ancient history to life — not just the big headlines, but the human stories, little details, and anecdotes that made us feel like we were stepping back 2,000 years into the world of emperors, gladiators and roaring crowds. Teddy was knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about his subject. He answered every question with warmth and insight, and had a brilliant way of making the tour fun and accessible for everyone, regardless of how much you knew beforehand. The tour was well organised, the pace was perfect, and we left with a completely new appreciation of the Colosseum and Ancient Rome. I would highly recommend Trip in Italy and especially Teddy to anyone visiting Rome — it will make your experience unforgettable.

5.00We are a group of 4 friends and we did the “Gladiators Arena Premium Access – Colosseum + Forum + Palatine Hill” tour with Trip in Art in September. I must say it was an amazing experience! Entering the Gladiator Arena was exciting: walking on the floor where gladiators once fought made us feel part of history. The guide Noemi was fantastic: passionate, prepared and nice, she managed to involve everyone, from the most curious to friends a little distracted 😄. After the guided part, we had time to explore the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill on our own. It was perfect: we enjoyed the views, took memorable photos and could turn at our own pace, laughing and discovering hidden corners.

Walking directly onto the arena floor felt like stepping back in time – and having that privileged view, looking up at the ancient stands, gave us goosebumps. Our guide Tedros had a passion for Roman history that was contagious, painting vivid images of how life was 2,000 years ago. 5.00Family of 4 (September) We booked this tour with our two kids (4 and 10) and it was one of the highlights of our trip to Rome. Entering the Colosseum through the Gladiator’s Gate and standing on the arena floor was simply unforgettable – the children were fascinated by the stories of gladiators and ancient Rome. Our guide Eni was knowledgeable and engaging, always mixing history with anecdotes that kept everyone’s attention. The headphones worked well even in the crowd, and the pace was comfortable for both adults and kids. After the guided part inside the Colosseum, we had tickets to explore the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill on our own. It was the perfect balance: first the storytelling with Eni , then the freedom to wander among the ruins. Tip for families: wear comfortable shoes, bring water, and prepare your kids with a little background on gladiators – they’ll love it even more. Overall: highly recommended, worth every euro.
