Fascinating view of how time keeping influences maritime navigation. The building is very impressive as is the history of maritime times keeping. The meridian line is a must see owing to its significance. Would be even better if folk didn’t hog the photo opportunity - you don’t need 30 identical shots of you making a peace sign astride of the line whilst pulling a stupid face now do you? Some good views of Greenwich and surrounding Thames views from the hill top.

A bit expensive but worth a visit A little walking to get there by public transport The visit is very interesting of this place a bit mutic. The zero of the meridians of our planet But the observatory is more than that and shows particularly the development of maritime clocks that had to abandon the balance to be able to operate at sea to provide the time necessary for the accurate positioning of vintage ships

A well curated Museum with free talks throughout the day. The visit was on my top 3 things to do in London after reading Dava Sobels book Longitude. The tour guides were knowledgeable and engaging

This was a very easy self guided tour. It was very interesting to learn how relatively recent all of these “time” things are. I wish we had planned for more time to wander around the town.

One of my most favourite things. If you love science, space and history of watches. It’s perfect for you. Great to be in the Herat of time keeping history.

I took my parents to see the famous Greenwich Prime Meridian on their wedding anniversary. I bought the tickets online, prior to taking them. They loved the beautiful sights of Greenwich Park, as well as the history and science of the Prime Meridian Line. They were also fascinated by the Great Equatorial Telescope. We had to enter the scenic Greenwich Park and then climb the hill, where we saw some of London`s best views. On reaching the top, there was a small queue near the building. After you get inside, you also get to see instruments of astronomy and navigation. The famous Greenwich line is marked by a metallic strip on the ground, with major cities of the world marked along the line depicting the Western and Eastern hemispheres. We spent roughly 2 to 2.5 hours at this place, as we also wanted to read more on the instruments on display. My parents deeply cherish this experience of standing on this famous line together, as it was a reminder of their honeymoon days when they crossed the International Date Line,180 longitude degrees from this spot. Thus they marked a timeline of their own.

Stunning views from the Observatory hill, you can stand on the meridian line without going inside, there is a little swing gate to the side of the measures plaque. Honestly this is super expensive and there's not a lot to see, nothing interactive for the kids, minimal videos. You can download an audio tour for free from on the ARTIFY app which is informative but really it's the most amount of money we have paid to see the least amount. Certainly wont be going again. Rather save your money ans spend your time at the Maritime Museum at the bottom of the hill.
