How to Access: After booking you’ll receive an email and text with instructions (search “Download Audio Tour”). Click the link in the email/text to sign in with your preferred Apple or Google account and redeem your voucher code ahead of time.
Download The GuideAlong App: Download the free app over WiFi or cellular data and sign in with the same Apple or Google account
Download The Tour: Download the tour in the GuideAlong app under 'My Tours' over WiFi or cellular data.
Start The Tour: Open the tour in the GuideAlong app to preview the start locations, tour route and trip planner, or start the tour.
Location-Based Stories: Audio commentary plays automatically as you drive using your phone’s GPS chip. Wherever you are and whichever direction you’re going, you’ll hear the best stories and tips.

Akaka Falls State Park
One of Hawaii's most famous waterfalls, stunning Akaka Falls plummets a sheer 440 feet into a gorge. Access is along a 750 foot trail with lush rainforest, bamboo, ferns and some wild orchids, so it's easy to see why it's so popular. Consider hiking the added 800 feet to Kahuna Falls and for the whole hike to take under an hour. To access the falls state park, we will pass through the eclectic, ex-plantation town of Honomu, where we can make a quick stop for a baked Hawaiian treat, Big Island coffee or even visit the goat dairy.

5.00This was a perfect way for us to tour the island on our own, while still having a “private” tour guide! We loved being able to go at our own pace and visit the areas we were interested in. The guide gave us options and tips but let us decide what we wanted to see and do. Just perfect!
It felt like we had a person in the car with us!

5.00The guide was great! The voice was very soothing and gave highlights about what we were seeing and stories while we drove. The guide also helped us know where we could park to go visit the sites on foot. The turn by turn directions were very helpful.

1.00I did not get the audio to work. It was very hard to get help. No one would answer one number and the other number wanted to send you there. Reason found be I was on vacation and did not have my Google password which was needed to sign in. People I talked to when I got some e was very nice but coul t help me. I did get a refund😁

5.00This was a great way to see and learn about the big island at our own pace. We landed so much and missed our guide, who we named The Captain, when we left Kona and went to Kauai. We definitely will get another self guided tour in the future.

5.00Great for those with a car and wanting to explore the entire island. Definitely stop at the historic sites- the ones near the Kona coffee tour loop have great little bays and beaches. The cattle area up North looked so beautiful- like a computer screensaver.

5.00Great app. Informative and interesting information. The speakers voice was pleasant to listen to as well. We really appreciate that you can begin anywhere because we didn’t always remember to turn the app on when we got in the car.
