Your shared shuttle transport will bring you between the main tourist hubs of Antigua and Panajachel at Lake Atitlan. You can request to be dropped off at the main public dock to get on a boat to the other lake villages.

Passengers will be picked up either at their accommodation location in Antigua, or at the dock or a hotel in Panajachel. The trip takes approximately 3 hours without traffic or other delays. There will be one restroom stop if requested. The route is along winding, mountainous roads, so please prepare yourself if you are prone to motion sickness. Please leave yourself ample time if you have an ongoing connection. You will be dropped off at your accommodation in Antigua, or in the central hotels or at the dock in Panajachel. For those staying within the center of Panajachel, you can request drop off at your hotel if the accommodation location is on a street that is wide enough to accommodate our bus.

4.00The drive was all safe, easy and we’d take it again. The driver was on time, helped with bags and pointed us in the right direction after arriving at our destination. It is just worth knowing that you won’t have much (any?) leg room. My partner and I are both about 6’ and had to sit at an angle to fit our legs in. It’s a shared shuttle at a good price so it wasn’t surprising or a big deal but if you’re taller than us, it might be more of an issue.

1.00Really bad and dangerous driving from the driver and other drivers. I would not take a shared bus like this again because you can't ask your driver not to talk on the phone whilst driving a bus or not to overtake on bends when you're sitting at the back and with other people. Really dangerous

2.00The van was completely full and the benches are very uncomfortable in addition to having very little leg space Besides, there's a broken window so there's wind all the way in.
I guess it's ok...I eventually made it!

3.00The shared shuttle is affordable. There was good communication via email/call to confirm specific details and changes before the trip. Once getting to the changed location, there were several buses and shuttles across the street from there, so I just had to assume to check over there. Once getting to the changed meeting point, asking around to several different random people, I eventually heard two men calling out a name very similar to mine, so I checked with them because you aren't really sure where to go exactly because no pick ups were available from hotel due to a festival going on. No one is holding a sign with your name. I couldn't confirm with one guy because the spelling of my last name was wrong on their paper. He walked off to check with someone else. The other guy who was also calling my name or similar name to mine, wouldn't acknowledge me and automatically told me no without talking to me. I tried showing him my ticket on my phone and he sternly said no again! Another guy who speaks English eventually came to apologize to me and said that they got my last name wrong/that the other guys only speak Spanish. I think his name was Hulio. He saved the day. They probably would've left without me if it wasn't for him. The driver who told me no twice was actually my driver! Before we pulled off, Hulio confirmed my drop-off location to my hotel, but once we finally arrived, the driver just pulled on the side of some road and said Finito! We had to walk and find our way to our hotel. Before arriving, it appeared we took a longer route than the shortest distance. We were all checking our maps. We stopped once for gas and a bathroom break at the beginning of the trip. We had to keep stopping for the driver to check the brakes I guess, noise kept beeping throughout trip. If you just need an affordable ticket, I guess it's ok, you'll probably make it to where you're going, but with stress.

3.00For the price, you really can’t expect much. We and our luggage got to Lake Atitlan safely from Antigua and the driver was patient during some crazy traffic. There were some windy roads as other reviewers have mentioned but it really wasn’t that bad and again, the driver was good. I think where I would take points away would be, we were told there would be a/c but there wasn’t and during the peak traffic jam in Antigua, we were all stuffed in the van forced to have our windows open and just eating dust and smog for about an hour. It was really hot and keeping the windows closed was really not an option. The other unexpected thing was, we thought we had picked everyone up from Antigua and were just heading to lake Atitlan but about an hour into the ride, we stopped at some random gas station and picked up 4 more people. The van was PACKED. This one guy was sitting right by the van doors and was hanging on for his life so he didn’t fall during the turns. I would say, def set your expectations low. You’ll be getting close with some strangers and if you’re 5’6+, be aware that for the entire 3-4 hour ride, you’ll most likely be riding with your knees jammed right into the seat in front of you. You get what you paid for.

3.00It's definitely a good deal but the shuttles are very packed. They are small, uncomfortable and not one seat open, which is not easy on such a winding road and on a journey that can take over 4 hours if there is a lot of traffic, which was the case on the way there. We still booked this for the way back because it's so much cheaper than a private ride. Would definitely do a private ride if traveling with kids.
