The highlight of the tour is a visit to the Sistine Chapel, where you can admire Michelangelo's famous ceiling paintings, including the Last Judgment.

If the chosen time is not available, you will be transferred to another time on the same day. These changes do not depend on us. Therefore, when making the reservation you are aware of this possibility, we will not accept subsequent complaints or refund requests. Example: If you choose the 9:30 am time slot and the Vatican ticket office closes at that time, you will be transferred to the first available time slot, 10:30 am, 11:30 am, 2 pm or 5 pm.
Important notice for last minute bookings (same day or overnight): in case of lack of spaces, the customer will be accommodated the day following the booked date.

Vatican Museums
The Vatican Museums are the national museum of the Vatican City, in Rome. Founded by Pope Julius II in the 16th century, they occupy a large part of the vast courtyard of the Belvedere and are one of the largest art collections in the world, since they display the enormous collection of works of art accumulated over the centuries by the popes: the Sistine Chapel and the papal apartments frescoed by Michelangelo and Raphael are part of the works that visitors can admire on their journey. Although the museums are located entirely in Vatican territory, their entrance is in Italian territory, in viale Vaticano 6 in Rome.

The Sistine Chapel (in Latin: Sacellum Sixtinum), dedicated to Mary Assumed into Heaven, is the main chapel of the apostolic palace, as well as one of the most famous cultural and artistic treasures of the Vatican City, inserted in the itinerary of the Vatican Museums. It was built between about 1475 and 1481, at the time of Pope Sixtus IV della Rovere, from which it took its name. It is known throughout the world both for being the place where the conclave and other official ceremonies of the pope are held (in the past also some papal coronations), and for being decorated with some of the best known and most celebrated works of art in the artistic civilization worldwide, among which the famous frescoes by Michelangelo stand out.

4.00Tour guide was outstanding. The Viator organization not so much. I must have received at least a dozen reminders of time and date. In the end they were all wrong. Fortunately the time was later than earlier. Not good.

3.00The guide Filippo very professional and very prepared. But at the Vatican Museum he explained that we could either visit the papal apartments painted by Rafaello or relax with the group in the Sistine Chapel of Michelangelo. I think it is not possible to lose the painted apartments of Rafaello was a very serious failure.I was very sad and my companion too. For the amount paid I think it was fair a differentiated treatment. At first the tour was scheduled for 16.30 after they alerted that it was 14.30 (;14.00 in the agency) I think something wrong happened and the value was not appropriate for the tour done. Greetings. 4.00Excellent and knowledgeable tour guide, easy meeting place, perfect flow through tour with explanations! Sistine chapel close for conclave so tour ended early and no refund from viator. I’d recommend but maybe viator should have contacted us to adjust rate.
A must if you are in Rome.

5.00Although we misunderstood our meeting point and arrive late to the right location. They were still able to accommodate us at a later time. The tour itself was amazing and our tour guide was able to explain and pinpoint areas of interest to us all. I gave it five stars because it was a great experience and I would highly recommend it. I would also take this tour again if I have an opportunity to visit Rome again in the future.

5.00Gabriel was our guide and he was fabulous. He was a great story teller with extensive knowledge of the history of the vatican. In the short time that was available and due to the crowds he was able to guide us to the most important and memorable experiences in both the tour and the Vatican museum. Highly recommend Gabriel!

5.00Vincenzo is an excellent guide with the heart of a teacher. He is lively, knowledgeable, and entertaining. The tour was interesting and fun and we saw and learned about so many things. I highly recommend this tour, and Vincenzo in particular, to anyone visiting the Vatican.
