We will pick you up from your hotel and take you to a real sumo stable with your guide. There, you can watch the powerful morning practice up close from inside the training area — a rare and special experience.

About the program In this tour, guests are given the once-in-a-life opportunity to watch professional sumo wrestlers train in a genuine sumo stable. As part of the tour experience you will be accompanied by a professional guide, who will detail for you the many aspects behind traditional sumo. You will also witness sumo training techniques and rituals, as well as a few practice matches. Depending on the session/stable, the training session is expected to proceed as follows: 1. Basic Sumo Exercises: Exercises to strengthen legs, hips, and upper body, as well as muscle building regimes. 2. Practice Matches: Serious bouts performanced between two sumo wrestlers at a time. A must-see part of the training! 3. After the session: You may have the chance to take photos with the wrestlers (schedule depending). *ATTENTON! This program is not available on the following dates: 2025 year May 10 - June 5 June 26 - August 6 September 13 - October 8 October 23 - December 3

5.00Awesome experience; we would recommend this for anyone visiting Tokyo. The only thing to note is that the transportation to the stable was by foot/subway, so be sure to have a Suica card and good walking shoes.

5.00Midori met us at our hotel and we took the train to the sumo stable. She was very informative with hand outs to read to help us understand what sumo is and what we were going to see. We toured a small shrine in the way. We enjoyed seeing the wrestlers in action.

5.00One of the highlights of our trip! Guide met us at the hotel and took us by subway and bus to the sumo stable, where we watched a practice session and learned so much about the sport. There was even a photo opportunity with a couple of the wrestlers at the end! Amazing experience!
