• Much more open and carefree than Versailles

  Our experience began as we met our guide at the homebase very close to one of the stations, which was not open for the moment. We got our E bikes and rode with the group through the town, seeing beautiful areas of the local village and then turning onto the palace grounds. A tour of the home of Marie Antoinette and the Hamlet that she had created were both lovely. Even though it was a warm day, riding along in the shade, seeing the beautiful grounds, we were all very happy. Our guide was knowledgeable, funny, and very responsive to requests we had, while anticipating our needs every step of the way. Even though we finished with access to the palace, the best part of the day was riding around in the open air through the beautiful grounds of the palace.

  Our guide was from Texas and so there were no language issues. He was knowledgeable and handled a large group well. It is a bike tour but there is as much walking as biking - the bikes mainly help you get around the large grounds.

  Ok, there needs to be a requirement that everyone in the group knows how to ride a bike. Plus, there were too many people in the group.

  Book this tour if you enjoy biking, want to learn about Versailles, and are short on time! Our family loved our afternoon excursion from Paris, learned a ton, and only wanted to spend a few minutes inside the palace after exploring the gorgeous, expansive grounds we'd never be able to see purely on foot. Our guide was knowledgeable and showed us a great time!

  This bike tour was super fun, not terribly challenging and very thorough as we really got to see it all. There is a bit of a walking component due to some of the attractions they take you to see that do not have a bike path. The grounds are spectacular and this is the right way to see it all. The French air feels so good as you breeze through the countryside! Andrea was our tour guide and he was a wealth of information and had some great Marie Antoinette stories. You can tell he loved his job and he made the day great for us!
