On a fateful summer's day in 79AD, Mt Vesuvius erupted, spewing volcanic ash over the village of Pompeii. Unaware of the imminent danger, most people continued on with their daily lives and as a result the entire town and around 20,000 of its inhabitants were buried under tons of ash and pumice.
Almost 2000 years later, you have the opportunity to explore the preserved ruins of this famous disaster. Your guide will show you fascinating places such as The Forum, Thermal Baths and Lupanare. Before returning to Rome, you'll have a break for lunch with pizza&drink.

4.00The stories and facts about the life and the spaces people lived. The guide was very knowledgeable. Really enjoyed the history, but would have liked more time for me to explore, but we did not have that. I noted spaces we did not see and where others were walking, but we did not and there was no time.

5.00Pompeii was a not to be missed experience. Our guide Francesca provided the historical back drop to one of the greatest natural disasters and preserved historical landmarks in the ancient world. A wonderful day with lasting memories to share.
