We highly recommend the Kuranda Small Group Tour! The experience felt tailored to us, thanks to the small group size and the convenience of hotel pick-up. Our guide, MAN, deserves special recognition—he was awesome, very knowledgeable, and extremely helpful! Even when the Skyrail was out of service, the tour operator delivered exceptional value by substituting it with a delicious lunch and a very enjoyable Army Duck Boat tour. Great experience overall!

Wonderful time, Man our driver was excellent. Man took care of the 6 of us. No issues with anything. Man took us to the wildlife park for a very nice buffet lunch and army duck ride after the train ride. Got to see lots of Australian animals in the park.

Very nice tour. Disappointed the Skyrail had just closed for maintenance. The tour operator did however offer another option that we took. It was the Army duck tour of the rainforest. The train too the top was very nice, commentary was all the way explaining the scenery and how the line was built and the history of the train. Seating was comfortable and there was toilet facilities onboard. Once at Kuranda village we were given enough time to stroll around or go to the bird park or the butterfly park. we did the butterfly park and were not disappointed. A bus then took us to lunch down the road, luckily we got there just before a large group arrived. The lunch was ok, nothing special. The Army duck was very good with experienced tour guides. All in all a very good days out, highly recommended.

We were picked up by Man (his name) on time. He was friendly, on time, and gave extra insights on plants and history along the way. The sky tram was really cool. There are multiple legs of the journey, with stops up in the rainforest and at a waterfall. We were there during the dry season, and I'm sure the wet season would be really awesome with the falls full of water. After reaching Kuranda, Man drove us around a little to point out the best spots that he recommended, and also locations of the animal exhibits. We did all three exhibits; The butterfly sanctuary, koala gardens, and the bird sanctuary. The butterfly exhibit was a new type of experience for us, and the kids enjoyed trying to get butterflies to land on their paper. The koala gardens we went to specifically to see Quokka, which they had, but were sleeping. They had kangaroos you could feed, but there was only one in the area you could feed them, the rest were hiding away. In the bird sanctuary I fed a macaw, but then my daughter got her finger chopped trying to feed a parrot, so be careful if you choose to do that. We had to rush through these exhibits somewhat as we wanted to check the shops in town before meeting up with Man. We did have about 30 minutes to go in the shops. We really liked the mango sugar cane smoothie from a shop in town. I only wish we could have had another hour or so in town. We didn't eat lunch, as we didn't have time to do that plus the animal sanctuaries. But we had snacks and ate a large breakfast. The train ride back was okay. It's actually pretty long (around 2 hours), and there is some commentary along the way, and a few waterfalls to see, but it's not quite as cool as the sky tram. There's only one window seat in each row so the kids were not as engaged and weren't even trying to see out the window. Overall we enjoyed our day, and I would recommend it. Just be prepared for what is most important to you up in town, and do the most important first.
