If you’re a Lord of the Rings fan you will love this experience. Immersing yourself into the shire and hearing about the filming inside secrets was excellent. Not to mention the fact that you get to walk through a Hobbit’s house!

Initially worried as day was going to be long but tour ran smoothly we had a good enough mix of activity and travel Our tour guide was pleasant but keep and our schedule We found both Hobbiton and caves good places to visit

The Hobbiton and Waitomo Caves experience was awesome! It exceeded expectations. Our shuttle driver, Cheeky Matt was phenomenal. He picked us up bright and early. Cheeky Matt gave us good information about Auckland and on the drive down. We started our day at the Hobbiton. The Hobbiton tour was fantastic. Then we stopped for lunch at the Fat Kiwi. Next we toured the glowworm caves at Waitomo. Long day, but great experience. Highly recommend the tour with Cheeky Matt! Thank you again Cheeky Matt!

Dean was our driver and he was super friendly and knowledgeable. He struck a great balance with just enough information to keep us entertained but not lectured at, played great music, gave us helpful hints and tips and was always really friendly (even the time we were a couple min late to get to the bus). He also took our picture and kept the items we bought and offered us a ride back to our hotel if it was on his route. He also got bit by Oscar the ostrich - poor guy! But he kept a positive and happy spirit throughout and made our tour very enjoyable and a day well spent! We went on this tour on 2nd day in NZ and felt like a good intro to the country and culture. If you’re thinking about it - just do it!

We were picked up on time. Our driver/guide Alessandro was friendly, knowledgeable and funny (at times). Hobbiton is well-run and a great experience. We never felt it to be busy and we weren't rushed. Our guide there was knowledgeable and told great, behind the scenes stories. The property/set is very well taken care of. The Waitomo Caves were interesting, and again, our guide there was knowledgeable. We would definitely recommend this tour.
