Experience stunning scenery on an unforgettable day trip to Milford Sound.
The pristine Milford Sound is part of the World Heritage Fiordland National Park, in the south west of the South Island, and is famed for its remote atmosphere and rugged beauty. It is New Zealand’s best known fiord and the only one that can be reached by road. Maori are believed to have discovered Milford Sound more than 1,000 years ago, returning seasonally to collect the prized pounamu (greenstone). In the early 1800s John Grono was the first European settler to land in the sound, which he named after Milford Haven in Wales.
Described by Rudyard Kipling as the 'eighth wonder of the world', Milford Sound was carved by glaciers during the ice ages. Milford Sound is breathtaking in any weather. Cliffs rise high into the air from the dark waters, mountain peaks scrape the sky and waterfalls cascade downwards, some as high as 1000 metres.

An excellent trip and we were given lots of information by the coach driver on the way and plenty of chances to stop for amazing photos!

This is the 2nd time i have done Milford Sound. The driver Dwayne was very safe & also a great orator. Even after a bus backed into us he kept things on an even keel. He is a credit to the company,

What an awesome day we had! The coach driver, Dwayne was awesome. He was very knowledgeable about the agriculture around and the different places we drove by. He stopped at places for bathroom breaks and sites to take photos. He is a very skilled driver to be able to handle that big coach around the twisty roads especially from the Homer tunnel to Milford sound. The day was long but the scenery was unbelievable. This tour was worth the money.

Long day no Wi-Fi on the bus we had planned to work with eight hours of travel time, but found out we couldn’t

Long journey to get there but well worth it. Be prepared for the weather being windy and cold as it was when I did this trip.
