Mozarthaus Vienna
At Mozarthaus Vienna, visitors can explore the only Vienna apartment of Mozart’s that has been preserved, where he lived from 1784 to 1787 and composed more music than anywhere else. Around this flat, a comprehensive presentation of the times in which Mozart lived and of his most important works, spread over three exhibition levels, awaits Mozart fans, young and old, from all over the world. The exhibition is focused on the great composer’s Vienna years, which represent the peak of his creative achievement. The distinctive baroque vaulted ceiling in the second basement of Mozarthaus Vienna has been converted with great architectural sensitivity that perfectly combines the old and the new into a remarkable multipurpose event venue and offers a perfect setting for concerts in a private atmosphere. It is right here where you can listen to some of Mozart´s best compositions during the one hour summer concert. Program for the summer concerts: From Le Nozze di Figaro, KV 492: Ouverture (for piano) Klaviersonate (Alla Turca) in A-Dur, KV 331 Rondo in D-Dur KV 485 Rondo in F-Dur KV 494

My 17-year old son and I had an amazing time at the Chamber music concert last week, I believe it was August 21st. The outstanding song selection with brief introduction to each piece felt like such an intimate overview of some of the wonderful composers and music pieces Vienna has produced. We went to Musikverein the night before which was also very, very impressive. However we found that we favored the concert we saw at Mozarthaus, as the musicians were engaging and quite excellent. The following day we went to the sheet music store to pick up sheet music for many of the songs they played, to take home as another special souvenir to remind us of the joy we experienced at this concert. Thank you!

The concert was magical!!! We were just lost in breathtaking music of Vienna. Pianist put all her energy and emotions. The audience would agree with my experience.

To avoid a tourist trap Honestly not much about Mozart's house, it's very messy, however I recommend that you go and visit Schoenbrunner Palace

The piano concert was enjoyable and the small venue in the lower level of the museum intimate. We also enjoyed the museum and the apartments but the building was crowded during the time and day that we visited. That made it harder to view everything unhindered.

The museum itself would have been 5 stars. Great explanation with the tour guide machine, so that you can visit the exhibition at your own pace, without have to follow an actual tour guide. Really gave a holistic perspective into Mozart’s life, works, and the life of people in his time. After the visit to the museum, I watched Amadeus the movie. I recommend you do the same: watching the movie before or after the museum visit, to get a complete experience into Mozart (the movie is partly fictional to exaggerate dramatic effects so some scenes are not factually true) However, I deducted one star because of the concert. Deducting from the admission price, as a student, I paid 27€ for the Mozarthaus concert. The pianist did not seem to have practiced enough. The violin and the cello were beautiful and professional. As a piano player, I could not help but be particularly disappointed. The venue was average, and the repertoire was a bit cliché (they played pieces like Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, The Blue Danube, The Swan by Saint-Saëns, Arabesque by Debussy, etc.). I suppose this concert is designed for tourists who had no experience at all in classical music, since the cello player keeps explaining very basic classical music concepts. I have no problem in this at all, as they are doing a great job promoting classical music to the general public, and I applaud their effort. However it was not I wanted to see when I bought the ticket. Overall, I am a long-time classical music lover and I would have loved to spend the ticket money for a legit concert in Wiener Konzerthaus or other venues. So, if you dont know anything about Classical Music, this concert in Mozarthaus may not be a bad idea. If you are looking for a nice classical concert, I would suggest to look elsewhere.

Like the Intimacy of the basement. Appreciated the commitment by the pianist to perform at historical venues.

Very commercial, but - as a great admirer - great to be in this historic location. Unfortunately, there is little or no authenticity. Audio guide in 13 languages, but of course not in Dutch. (Why not?) Fortunately, in the basement there was a recital by pianist SoRyang where works were played that were composed at this place. This made the visit interesting.
